@Captain8Bit - West Seattle can be a funky part of town, and this is a huge park... so I just had people lingering around my picnic table. Most were just curious, but a few either kept getting a bit too close... or eyed my camera and games with envy. I look like a mother protecting her cubs, don't I? :)

@AlirazaVideoGames - Thanks for noticing the audio! I use either a wired lapel mic (like in the video above) or I have a nice R0de shotgun mic that is great too. I used to work in a professional recording studio...so a bit of that comes out in my videos. As for the NES top loader, I should get it modded. Using RF blows!

Haha, so many shmups! I was introduced to the genre VERY recently with Deathsmiles for the 360, but I've gone back and played a few other like 1942 (NES), Legendary Wings (NES). My dad introduced Galaga to me on the Namco Museum game on the PS2, but nothing beyond that, so it's awesome to explore some of these awesome games. I'm really looking forward to Otomedius Excellent for the 360 later this month. Great video, man! Looking forward to watching more of them :)

I downloaded Gradius to my 3DS from the eShop. That game is ungodly difficult! I don't remember the GameBoy version (which had its name changed to Nemesis for some reason) being anywhere near that difficult. Lots of nice finds for NES & Super NES. Your friend Ryan easily saved you at least $100 on those great titles. (Mega Man 2, Castlevania & Zelda: LTTP, specifically...) Doom on the PS1 is probably one of the better console ports of the classic PC games. I picked it up recently in the long box. It's quite fun. Although, I still prefer the N64 & PC versions above all others.

Do the shops in Seattle have the games inside the boxes as they're on display? I purchased a ds game in a respected retro shop in my area, but I had to take the empty box to the counter and they put in a counterfeit cartridge. I only noticed when I got home.

I recommend you look for the Japanese version of Gradius Deluxe on the Sega Saturn, it includes Gradius 1 and Gradius 2. Salamander Deluxe (LIfeforce series in the US) has the 1st and 2nd game in the series, and the US Lifeforce version, available on the Sega Saturn. Also, look for another Japanese game from the same series, Gradius Gaiden for the PS1. A Gradius Collection for the PSP was also released here in US.
