I remember this one, was a studio set from around 2001. 2001 was the pinnacle transition point where people were complaining about the death of Garage and noone knew what to call this new instrumental sound that we now call Dubstep and Grime. What makes me laugh is, you have US Hip-Hop radio DJs trying to tell us that Grime originated from Hip Hop and is an offshoot of HIp Hop!. What's even more disturbing is you then have people like Skepta and Dizzee Rascal agreeing as if they completely forgot that this sound came out of the UK Garage scene un fucking believable. Skepta seems to be possessed with getting approval from the states and probably bobbed his head like the churchill dog just to please the US audience. Wouldn't surprise me if he shinned ebro after the show.

As a garage/grime fan from the states, I can only speak from my experience, but I hardly find anybdy here aside from Djs who listen to garage or grime, much less even know what they are. lol.. I really wish there was more exposure of grime. Americans are arrogant and claim they invented everything, okay, fine... But they did not invent speaking in rhyme form. When I describe grime to folks out here, I do say it resembles rap, with the rhymes, bars and urban roots, but I wouldnt say it has its roots in hip-hop at all. However, Grime kinda does look like rap over here. The endless fucking battles, dissing, rushing other artists at shows. A bit why I stopped listening to it, actually. Still love listening to my favorite tunes now and then.

@@garryburns0178 Nope!! Planet Phat Records was on Caledonian Rd!! It used to be called 24 Karat Records back in the 90s and sold Jungle vinyl. Then changed hands in 1998/1999 and sold Garage/Grime. DJ Tubby was based at Planet Phat he was part of Brain Dead Entertainment with the Newham Generals.
