And that's what it seems to look like. I've seen and heard a lot of negative about CRST over the years but most of the time most of the people I've seen with bad reviews seem spoiled or liked they never went through anything. 💯 Those are people that were probably used to shit going their way all their life or never really faced struggles. The people who want to get in there get their CDL make some money and do their ten months do it. I've seen plenty do it. I just have to outweigh my options before making a decision. Jacksonville is 5 hours away from me. I'm in Fort Lauderdale. 💯

My school here in CA had only two old trucks and a few students. I had a chain smoking instructor who had that skill to whistle real loudly. He trained me right though. We trained on a dirt lot full of bumps and holes where we'd get the truck stuck from time to time. But it was a good experience. Very relaxed and a patient instructor. Funny too.

Prime inc pays $700 guaranteed first 40,000 miles and $800 between 40,000-50,000 then .50 cpm ~2750 miles per week. They pay you while you're training, they pay for your motel (which they bought out and converted into rooms for their students), and they give you a $200 loan every week for the first month.
@My84Lude4 жыл бұрын
Correct, however getting on with PRIME if the first hurdle. With a 50+ year work history because I have taken early retirement and have lapses in regular employment over the past 24 months I was turned down due to work history. No hard feelings, I want to work, there is plenty of opportunity in this industry, with the research I have done my interest in CRST continues to go up. With a CDL and a years worth of driving history PRIME is still on the table, it is getting my foot in the door which is what I will do with one of these companies very soon.

@My84Lude4 жыл бұрын
@@kingzeek903 yes, I have been working since I was 8 years old, what is the crime for a person choosing early retirement at 62.5 and then taking a break? Some companies will hire a person right out of prison, and I say GREAT! Anyone who pays the price and wants a fresh start good on them. It just seems a 66yo with life and work experience, if they are healthy and can drive, would be valuable to any of these companies. I am certain when I have completed the training and have my CDL in hand I will find work.

Tried to go with Wilson logistics. Nothing on my background clean record and everything. They put me through the rigamarole of paying for Dot physical and my own permit. Called me today and told me I didn't get approved and he said he couldnt tell me why. He said they decided to go with more qualified applicants. Now wtf does that mean? We all have to go through the school. No-one is qualified yet. Strung me along and wasted my time. I'm now set to head to school with crst. The ew recruiters have been nice and informative and most importantly honest. Also I've heard at Wilson you hardly get any driving training behind the wheel. Your only in the school for a week before they send you on the road with a trainer and two days of that week is paperwork.

@@TruckerAvocado I can learn from and watch others but they aren't gonna be backing for me 😂 Just really trying to outweigh my options for training. I know a company that has 4 trucks on the yard 12 students at most. Those students are the only class that month. Not like mega carriers where 56 are coming in every week. So small things like that is what's going to make my decision. Asking drivers who went to J-Tech a few questions may help. The company pays more and offers a solo position after 15,000 miles with a trainer. I just have to use a cousin's address and go there to get my license transferred. That cost money. Traveling!
