Hey. Firstly thanks so much for these "security\ privacy" issues. Question. Is there a workaround with respect to TRACKING BY GOV'ERNMENT, the RETAILERS & OTHERS? IS there a phone that is for sale that will allow me NOT to put in my Name and Social? I saw a video about buying a phone and going into Developer Mode, and reconfiguring the phone, absent of Google, regular Apps, etc...I intend to try this but not on an IPhone, but a cheaper phone I wouldn't mind messing up. Thanks

Cool. After a couple months, there might be a chance to finally get to your initial objectives. I’ve forgotten what it was. I’ll try again after the third updates are done.

One thing you can do with the granular digging for photos, as you go along, decide which photos you want to add to social media specific apps, create a "social media" album, then specify those apps settings for "Selected Photos" and choose the "Social Media" album, that way these apps can only see those photos you choose. Yes, it takes more time to manage your photos into albums, but privacy takes time too.

I came on KZbin to try and find if there's a way to block particular people from sending me images in text ... But this is good. I have used this vid before, but I find that things get turned on when Apple updates software. Today I found Facebook had my microphone--who knew? Great stuff. Personally, I leave Location Services off until I need my trail guide or Maps, and try and remember to turn it off when I'm done the trip.

Great job. I’d like to propose two recommendations. Firstly, consider delivering the content at a slower pace and incorporating intentional pauses when highlighting features. This adjustment accommodates viewers who may not be native English speakers, enhancing overall comprehension. Secondly, it is advisable to verify the accuracy of the information shared, particularly regarding features such as Mail Privacy, as certain functionalities mentioned may not be present in the iPhone Pro 15. Ensuring the accuracy of content contributes to the credibility and reliability of the information presented. I couldn’t find Mail in my iPhone 15 Pro.

I appreciate you guys so much! I was right with you all the way with my cell, so much to learn and this helped a LOT. Happy Birthday David!! - Regarding a suggestion - somehow I stumbled into an overall green-lit permission to record me anytime. It wasn't dedicated to video, it was somewhere in settings that gave pre-approved access to record me anytime. Can't remember where I found it but I turned it off. - I also put a dot of black fingernail polish on the camera facing me. I have a story for you. I was playing a word game, and one day, my game disappeared and a man was looking at me. I believe he was seeing me, as well. We both sort of stared at each other, and just as we moved slightly to click a replay or reset, Blink - back to the game. This was disturbing. And about 6 months later, it happened again! I was staring at the same guy! We both had the same surprised look, recognizing each other and both our eyebrows shot up - I think, in that second we realized we were being watched. "It" had a glitch, though. And Blink, the game reappeared. I deleted the game and several othes. And nailpolished the camera. - Now my question to you both: How does one delete deleted apps? I suspect once 'downloaded it's still 'in' even if we disapprove of ''terms' and delete the app from view. Is there a way to dig deep, or an app for this? Thank you soo much!

I did an experiment disabling all location services versus having all of them on overnight and through the day. I did not notice any difference in battery life. I would say for things where you can show battery improvements will occur there should be some data to back up your statements. The always setting only becomes an issue if the phone detects that you are moving, most apps aren't actively tracking your location all the time in the background. As an example if you have always enabled for a weather app (AccuWeather is the best example here) and you take a drive between multiple locations, you will actually see your phone show in the recent locations of AccuWeather all of the cities or towns that you drove through. Apple most likely has part of it's OS level a detection scheme to detect that you changed locations significantly enough to warrant notifying apps that you moved, then it in turn sends the notification to any apps where always is enabled to notify them that your location changed and to update relevant data based on that change. GPS actually does not use a lot of power at all, it's just a receiver not a transmitter. The most power usage is in having an app update information over cellular/WiFi network as a result of the GPS information. If I use my Apple Watch to record a walk outdoors it will use my iPhone's GPS if the iPhone's is connected via Bluetooth. That does not impact the battery as the iPhone isn't refreshing a map nor is it displaying the content.

I had the strangest thing happen to me tonight. I was on my IPhone 12 with a friend (who just happens to be in the hospital) I kept hearing this shuffling noise I kept asking him if he would stop because it was so annoying. He kept telling me it wasn’t him. I hung up and called back and it started again. I started thinking could someone be listening in on the call. I never think like this but it was my only thought. So I started talking to the “person”and the ruffling started getting louder with added noises like finger tapping more ruffling. I thought to myself no way! Someone can’t be listening in. 🥲 I hung up the phone and I went into my settings. My only thought was to turn off my Wi-Fi. I did this and I called my friend again and it was normal no shuffling at all. Please can someone tell me if my phone call was being listened too? Is my phone hacked? Did my Wi-Fi have anything to do with it? I’m so freaked out about this. I hope someone can reply to my comment if anyone knows anything about this type of thing please could you reply. I would appreciate it so much. Thank You 🙏
