I have a question. If you go to privacy and security from setting on iPhone and you scroll down to app privacy report. How do you stop your apps from contacting so many domains? KZbin is contacting the most domains for me. Also, are domains bad or good( the ones that are getting contacted in the app privacy report)?

The problem with Advanced Data Protection I have …I use an IPad Pro they’ve stopped doing updates for but still do security updates on (I do not need nor want to buy a new one) I cannot turn on the Advanced Data Protection without removing my IPad from my account which I do not want to do! Help! I find this unfair that they are forcing me to remove my iPad from my account….any advice?

I was searching for security measures for iPhone and found this informative video. I need to know if I can switch my iPhone to a landline - if that would make things more secure for me. And, then have a second number I would keep for a handful of people instead of the enormous accumulation of people I have now on my phone over the many years. My phone carrier suggests to initiate the "safety mode setting" to avoid exceeding data usage via the lockdown mode on iphone? As of Feb. 2025 they'll be charging $20 per gigabyte if you go over and the safety mode isn't turned on. I thought lockdown mode was about cyber security? Thank you

Hi guys, I took your advice and turned on Advanced Data Protection at the weekend. However, I was out in my car this morning and when I tried to find a destination via Google Maps or Apple Maps, neither would work for me. My iPhone syncs with my car so this appears to be a problem. One flaw in all of this, you didn’t mention that the backup person you want has to use an iPhone ( per Apple) otherwise you cannot use this option. I wanted to chose my husband, but her uses android. Any other ideas for this?

Unfortunately, because it has a version of iOS that existed before the end-to-end encryption was a thing, your iPad doesn't have the software to be able to be a part of that end-to-end encryption. The two cannot co-exist, as all that iPad sees is gobbledygook and it physically is incapable of receiving the encryption keys to un-gobbledy the gook. You can only either have Advanced Data Protection enabled or have that iPad signed into your Apple ID. If you're able to update it, do it. If your iPad does not support the latest versions, you're kinda out of luck and need to disable it to be able to sign in.

Can't turn on advanced data protection with security keys AND windows access. Windows iCloud program can't use security keys. So for me to turn on it on I have to remove my PC as being a trusted device. Stupid.

It’s because Apple doesn’t store the recovery keys for extra security. It’s a zero-knowledge encryption architecture, which is ideal for maximum security in that even Apple doesn’t know the decryption keys, in case a data breach happens.
