Well, I love your videos and they really help. HOWEVER-You guys seem to be in a real HURRY to tell us what to change. Most of the time, I personally CANNOT keep up with the changes recommended, and must watch the video (backing up a-lot to keep up!) many many many times to get all the information. So, what I’d like to suggest is: SLOW DOWN!!!! Many here, myself included may be physically handicapped and we cannot change from one place to another as fast as you want us to. Also just bought an iPhone 14, first one was a lemon, but replaced and now navigating through all the different features (last had an SE 2nd generation so very different). One thing I would love to know how to get rid of is Focus, specifically Do Not Disturb that likes to turn on by itself, I got no calls for days because this app changed my schedule to daytime instead of nighttime, any suggestions??? Thank you for taking the time to put this video together. Cheers

I just got my first iPhone ever being always a Samsung Galaxy user. Point by point I checked my phone's settings with you guys and changed a lot of settings as you said. But, there is a big but here, my 14 Pro Max has problems staying connected to the wifi so I might need to keep it mostly on the network for a while until this issue gets solved somehow. As you can understand, some of the settings you suggest will not work for me now cause my phone needs to use cellular data to function at all times. But all in all, great video! Thanks!

DNS is all over the world, the only exceptions might be places like China that have a firewall that blocks certain actions. Ultimately, you are telling your phone a direct address rather than a common name. Think of it as GPS coordinates compared to local directions.

Great video as always when it comes to turning off things that aren't all that necessary, however I think there's something that perhaps you might need to investigate, as I have found with my former 12Max that doesn't seem to work the way that you think. Item #13 Block Sender Options. I have noticed over the last year or two an abundance of junk mail showing up in one of my accounts "junk" folders. So of course I took your advice in a previous video and enabled that setting to move the blocked mail to the trash, but I have to tell you I am constantly finding junk mail form the exact same blocked senders showing up in said junk folder and NOT my trash. Any chance you can start investigating whether this is broken still. I had searched online and several people on Apples forum had stated that they also have never seen it work on their iPhone, and I believe one individual stated that it was an exclusive feature for iMacs, and NOT meant for the iPhone's [even though it is within the settings screen].
@dian277

could you please explain the DNS server thing, it's new for me. I did look it up, and it does say it's not 100% secure and some internet service provider may not be compatible with it. So I wonder how it is compared to the default server my wifi came with, on security, data collection and etc. I get that yall are trying to help, but I'm reluctant to do something if I don't understand how it works and what it might do, aside from the purpose you already mentioned. Thank you.

This and the private relay tells me they are more worried about clicks/views and whatever they can about speed. I wouldn't do it, not from a speed or privacy stand point, but rather it's not going to be noticeable to 99% of people. To be clear, cloudflare isn't inheritly dangerous, just that you are modifying a setting to a third party.

After using most, not all of the Tips, it has disappeared and now there are TWO Weather in the larger format but Large note is missing. Looked for the PDF file but couldn't find it. How about a video that tells us to turn off every setting on the phone and you tell us which one to turn on. Seems it would be quicker.
@Ceranik
@Ceranik Жыл бұрын
Keep the raw setting on. It only shoots at 48MP if you choose to shoot in raw. With raw mode enabled you still have to manually enable raw mode every time the camera app is closed and reopened. By turning off raw mode in settings all you're doing is removing that option from the camera app. Also, it's 2023, having the max compatibility setting selected is just taking up more space with lower quality but larger jpeg files. Almost everything can read Apple's HEIC format at this point. It would be worth it to shoot in HEIC and convert to jpeg in the rare case it's needed. Just my two cents as someone who uses his iPhone as camera frequently.
