Canadians do not have the option of toggling anything to do with emergency alerts. We just do not have that option at the bottom of the notifications menu.

0:08 I don't have "Stolen device protection" on as it doesn't realize I'm at home and has to have the stupid 1 hour countdown at home too. so then I turned it off. 3:05 about the new standard notifications, so I changed it to the old Nokia sms sound, I think it was a bit fun to use, you can enter any one you want or buy a second one from iTunes

You have to literally tell it when n where to not annoy you with the 1 hr time delay in the find my app. By going to the specific device n where it says let you know when then add your home or other places you don’t want that annoying time delay.

Sidenote: You can create any custom tune through GarageBand on your iPhone and export as a tone. Just a small FYI if you want unique alerts and ringtones....

I recently updated to 17.4.1 with the option to add apps from different marketplaces but they do the bare minimum to explain how to do it, and when you do try it just downloads it as a file not a app. Still learning

I am not sure when this started, but it might have been with iOS 17.0. I can no longer assign a simple color scheme for a contact's initials "circle" like I used to prior to iOS 17. I get where some might like the wow factor using a photo, memoji, or monogram, but the simple color scheme made it easier to scan through Message conversations.

That’s one reason, I never used an Analog-Wristwatch, because of the numbers, like You’ve mentioned, it somehow a lot faster to process the exact time. And with an analog wristwatch, if a half a minute (30 sec) is on the watch, usually the minute hand, is never exactly right in the middle between 2 minutes.

Got the issue for my Iphone SE 2. After battery replacement my touch id function was disabled somehow, got 'Unable to activate touch id on this Iphone' error. Meanwhile got IOS updated to 18.0.1 that enabled 'Stolen Device Protection' automatically. When tried to 'Reset All Settings' as advised in some vides got message - 'Touch ID Required Stolen Device Protection is turned on'. But I can't activate touch id before I reset settings. I'm in a trap.

0:37 obviously I've just tried this and it still lets me use my bankcard under my pin number even with full protection on not only that I can unlock the phone with my passcode and then use my passcode to turn off the protection mode so what's the point?🤷🏻‍♂️

I turned my stolen device protection off! It wouldn’t recognize my HOME as a significant Location, so it kept giving me a 1 Hour delay before changing Any security settings. For some reason my Location isn’t recognizing my phone being At HOME It always says it’s 10 feet away or more . No idea why. I didn’t have anything grayed out though, so it wasn’t an issue turning it off. Not sure why it would do that.

Yes because they’re always tracking you and even with Location turned OFF under privacy & settings try calling 912. They’ll know EXACTLY where you are - not just what the nearest towers you’re pinging from …ATT now uses satellites for postpaid customers and separates their prepaid customers with using towers which are worse because Verizon’s always taking tons of towers down and not putting up their 5g and employees are quitting due to not getting paid except commission in those tiny rural towns ! They have deep pockets so to treat all yiur managers Asst Mgrs and employees this way and to deceive the public is a crime ! Apple turns your phone on while your sleeping and (they use what’s called “Wi-Fi ‘triangulation’ to find you - not because they care and want to help you in case of an emergency either !) even does this after it’s been charging awhile so it’s not like the phones that would turn on as soon as you plug it in while you just turned it off cause you’re one of the smart ones who doesn’t sleep with them on all night by your body (harmful) don’t believe me? Read all 200 pages of apples terms & conditions (think it’s on page 100 and something …😏) they have a disclaimer not to let the kids play on your iPad too long etc. Anyone notice Brian tumors , cancers on the rise not lessening ? Anyway on the positive side, great things are coming for us and from Med Befs to no more sickness, no need for money, high tech travel to and around space etc like the elitists have been using and enjoying behind our backs using our money!!

I have a question, "Satellite Connection" under Privacy & Security > Location Services > System Services, It is active in the background and tracking location but for what purpose? Isn't it only supposed to be active when an SOS Call is made? Is there any negative adverse effect to turning "Satellite Connection" off under that system services menu other than the obvious one that sattelite calling wont be available in case of an emergency? "Satellite Connection" isn't used to improve GPS for apps such as Google Maps or Waze, Correct?

I mean you can turn it off it doesn’t do anything unless it’s activate without signal I work in the road I see it often but it’s not a thing Actually a lot things they say makes sense but isn’t how the phone runs alit of the stuff he doesn’t with that makes your smart phone pretty stupid Remember none of your personal data leaves your iPhone it’s to make your smart phone a smart phone turning off all that stuff doesn’t save you battery You don’t need to turn off anything your iPhone knows when to use these things by not having it on at all it’s just blank Me and my IT class put all this stuff to the test and doesn’t hold water ….but make sense in the sense of if its on it’s draining power right! That’s just part of it it only uses it when it needs it don’t make your phone dumb

Figured this would be easier than an 🍎 forum…… I’ve recently purchased my first iPad. Already have iPhone and MacAir laptop. My question is do I need to turn iCloud Backup on all 3 devices or not. If I do, does this ‘triple’ the data stored in the cloud. I already pay extra to get the 200GB. iPhone says I’m at around 100GB used currently. Thanks for any help. This update brought me a major issue! I can not find a solution to. Seemingly at random, when my phone is turned sideways or when ads appear. My phones maximum volume is lowered by at least half! Even though my phone shows volume at max, the only way to fix it (sometimes) is to pause the media turn off the screen, turn the phone back on, open the media and hit play, if it didn’t work, I have to try again. Please someone help!

I had to collaborate with myself in order to add to and move songs around on an existing playlist-every playlist thus far. So I collaborated with myself, which added my big head on every song. I then said I no longer wanted to collaborate with myself and my big head was gone and I could then add new songs. I have an iPhone 14. I hope this gets fixed. I’m having an identity crisis!

So let me get this straight, "enter your passcode and pin" in order to get into the next screen to turn off then get a delay??? Seems a bit redundant since I do not know of anyone who unless they are a mind reader would be able to steal my phone then input my passcode. Why is apple blocking the actual user/owner of the device?
