I enrolled my 17 year old son shortly after birth and I choose to do the one time, up front payment that was around $12,000. They estimated his tuition cost to be $132,000 by the time he went to college. It gave me great piece of mind knowing his college was paid for...regardless of what happened to Mom or Dad. The sooner you enroll the cheaper it will be. Most people do the monthly payment program. Call them today...the sooner you start the monthly payment program the cheaper it will be. Good luck!

I would say yes because it locks in a rate and guarantees payment for the child's college. If there's one thing to learn about investing it is that nobody knows what a future investment will do and you really can only control what you are paying in fees. The only downside of the plan is you miss out on potential growth only if the child does not go to college. So if the child goes to college it is a win win.
