@@izzyd3613 The only thing stopping him from getting 6th MOTY is that he might get so good he will become a starter. Jrue Holiday is 34 and seems to have taken a step or two back, while PP is just lighting it up and killing the other team when he comes in. Jrue is still the better player, don't get me wrong. But when Jrue becomes sort of the way Al Horford is now, (still good but can't do it night after night) I am not going to cry real hard if it turns out they decide to have PP step in as a starter.

It's unbelievable how much Pritchard has developed over the past two seasons. We knew he could bomb from distance, but now he seems intent on taking defenders into the paint and beating them off the dribble...and damn, he's doing that now too.
@Shaolin_Chris11 күн бұрын
hope he can keep it up. he is a great 6th man. following in d white's footsteps from last year
@Ironfangzu11 күн бұрын
He doesn't seem to be "keeping it up", he's getting scarier and scarier game by game. The more minutes they give him against front line players, the more he has been stepping up and killing it. I think we are just now beginning to see that this guy can really do. As a backup, he really didn't want to do too much, so he just took his 3's as a 3-point specialist. But now you see him driving to the bucket and abusing guys half a foot taller. As Kyrie Irving shows, if you got good enough handles, not that many bigger guys can block your shot when you go to the basket. PP has a lot of moves and you can see that he's always able to get his guy just a bit off balance, so he can get that shot off.

Brad Stevens was an excellent X and O's coach, and I hated it when he stepped down from coaching. But he has been a revelation as a GM. He seems to know exactly what to do every time. In fact we've been blessed with great GMs from Danny Ainge to Brad all these years. Remember, our 'core" right now could have been Markelle Fultz and Kris Dunn, haha.

The Celtics brought back the exact same team that they won the chip with last year. But this year's PP is NOT the same guy. He used to be an excellent bench player, clearly the best player on the floor when it was filled with backups from both sides. But he is definitely so much more now. He is one of the relentless hustle guys, which is why he can get 4 or 5 rebounds at his 6' 1" height. He just gives max effort all the time. His ball handling and floor generalship is very improved. I feel great when he is bringing the ball up on a critical possession. He very seldom turns the ball over, and as his confidence grows, he is no longer just a 3-pt specialist. He is showing that he can drive to the bucket with good effectiveness even though he is a little guy. Then, of course, on a team where EVERYONE can shoot the 3, he is the one you least want to leave open behind the arc. If I were coaching against the C's, when a starter comes out and PP subs in, I am screaming for my guys not to relax but instead to really tighten it up on defense, because this so-called backup can hurt you fast.
