Jill, I have been so inspired by these videos showing how to get a beautiful watercolor appearance with gorgeous backgrounds. Honestly, after making the three cards I have already, that's all I want to do now! *haha* I've been going through all my stamp sets looking for those that can be used in this way. Thanks again for all the great inspiration!

What a great tip - masking off the stamp, rather than the image. Sure makes it a lot easier and I love your combining the two media.

Thank you, thank you! I was in love with the Penny Black brush stroke stamps and have bought several but was frustrated with the results I had achieved. I used markers to color the images and spritzed with a mister before stamping the image. Now I know what I've been doing wrong and there is hope for me yet ! I never took art classes of any kind in school because I was on the science track and eventually became a nurse. Now after working 33 years (was licensed for 50 years before retiring) at my last position , I'm free to explore other interests. Your videos will make me successful. I appreciate what you do so much.

so u just used the distress color and didn't dip in water??
@PennyBlackInc Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching- there is a little water on my brush when I dip it in the Distress Ink reinker. The less water used, the more saturated the color is-- if you want a lighter color, you can use more water. Happy stamping!

Darn! I have Tombo Markers to color the berries and leaves. Will they work? I don’t have re-inkers for painting. Distress ink pads (mini me and regular size) I do have.

Kind of new to stamping...love your videos. Is there some reason you inked the background color after stamping and coloring your image? Can you do the background color first, then stamp so you don't have to cut out a blank? Thank you!
@jillianavery827 жыл бұрын
Mod-Planet Thanks for watching! I find that if I ink the background first then this affects the quality of ink color when I stamp on top of it. By stamping onto the white paper, I get the truest colors, unaffected by brown colors underneath. Hope this makes sense. Happy stamping!

Jill, I love this video just like I love all of your other videos! I think you have so much talent and I appreciate your sharing it with us. Do you have a video of stamping and coloring the Amaryllis? I wanted to do one for my niece for Christmas and I don’t think I can do it without using yours as an inspiration :-). Thanks, Donna

Thanks so much for your kind comments, Donna!I apologize, I do not have a video for the Amaryllis stamp specifically, but these techniques work great for that stamp. You can do it! :) Happy stamping! -Jill

Does the archival ink come off the stamp when you are done?
@PennyBlackInc6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and for the comment! Archival ink is a permanent ink so it is also permanent on the stamp itself. I clean my stamp with a baby wipe and even though the stamp is stained, it will stamp perfectly in the future with different colors of ink. I have also had good luck in removing most of the archival ink using the Ranger Archival Ink Cleaner, especially if I clean my stamp as soon as I am finished with it. Happy stamping!

She is using the Silver Black Velvet watercolor brush in Round #6. Google it. Online art supply stores sell it for $8-10. Craft stores almost double the price.
