He/She should check savings account statement when the fd got prematurely broken where the funds went easily it can be tracked and i seriously doubt bank employees of that specific brach might have broken the fds immediately after issuing her the certificates and deposited in any insurance schemes. I personally also have come across quite same kind of incident in Axis bank belonia at first they were like dadas after i complained to axis higher authority and RBI Ombudsman they pissed in their pants and came begging to the customers home to withdraw the complaint.

No bank is best no bank is worst it depends on which customer gets what kind of service from the bank. There is 5Lakhs deposit insurance from Govt of india if u have money deposited in any registered banks in India. So its better to deposited within 5 lakhs in any bank and go for higher interest paying banks. If u are foolish and illiterate u should keep cash in home.
