Final between those two would have been more exciting. Belmo used to be a beast, but his speed and rev rate seemed to have dropped considerably the past two years.

S1rWakka He's getting older, when he drops speed he has to drop rev rate, his rev rate is the same as a few years ago but his speed is inconsistent which causes him to come high on the head pin like he did in the 3rd frame of the 2nd game.

I think Belmo needs to start utilizing his ball speed more. I feel like he tries to slow hook it a little too often now. EJ's look was much better, little straighter even with his big rev rate, and he was using a very strong ball. More like how Belmo bowled in '09-'10.

As someone who likes both these players, EJ clearly had a ton of room to work with as compared to Jason and with some of the "unlucky" single pins just him hitting high it felt like it was destined for EJ to win this.

Question to anyone: Why not use a straighter ball or less hooking ball and stay in your original spot instead of moving so far left?
@TheDarod1
@TheDarod1 7 жыл бұрын
well, the way you move your body really takes a big part on your shot, so to make a ball hook from the right side, right handed players move their bodies in that same direction, so they need to take the shot from the left, or something like that lol

jfitts23 because it is better to just learn to adjust and having that many bowling balls is expensive
@tefranger
@tefranger 6 жыл бұрын
jfitts23 depends on the lane. I guess on this oil pattern its better to generate alot of angle going to the pocket. You can have a flush pocket shot and have terrible carry if the ball doesnt continue to hook through. If they used a straighter ball on this pair my guess is you would see less strikes and a whole lot more pocket splits and flat 10's. Hope this comment makes sense. Happy bowling
@tefranger

jfitts23 that and bowlers with a high rev rate are generally more comfortable playing the lane deeper anyway.

Don't you realise that Belmo was slow with his speed only because of how the oil pattern played? He was playing in the deep inside part of the lane and that requires you to lessen your ball speed so that the ball comes back to the pocket.

@@jakherbertson4778 see, I'm the complete opposite. I am a righty two-hander and I prefer to not use Urethane, because I prefer the look and shape of reactive resin. I hate throwing urethane because of the lack of shape, as well as the early roll and the lack of confidence that it will carry. I wish the PBA would look into hiring a few new commentators for their broadcast. These knuckleheads they have now spend too much time trying to be funny and witty, which they are not very talented at, but even their comment about how many people they have jinxed in comparison to the guy who got in Jones's ear on break after he and Sven had the first 11 strikes. There is a difference between talking about it in "the booth" which is only a coincidence when it breaks the string. The idiot on the lanes that they comment has only jinxed one person so far compared to us...hahaha... yeah that guy said it right to one of the bowlers in between break. Big difference and that idiot will be looking for a new job soon too hopefully. But seriously, how amazing would it be to have a colorful personality like Marshall Holman or Guppy Troup. We need GOOD color commentary, not black and white with the antenna covered with foil.

PBA in a bar? Not very profesional. take bowling back to the lanes were bowlers can watch. why put it in a casino with all the noise and other things going on. I know it might be about money, but you need to have kids involved in this sport. Open the tournaments up to all top average bowlers and you will see larger turn outs, not only in bowlers but peaple that will watch. Also the loud music played between strikes in the tournaments is a joke. And i do agree, get commentors that will talk about the history and the back ground and type of ball and drillings, all things bowling. I watch these to learn how these guys are playing the paterns and what ball and drillings to help me get better. I do compete in the Pba and I am a member of the senior tour.

Main event is equivalent to an arcade... its focus is children actually.. those machines you see in the back are arcade machines. Yea there is a bar in the place for adults, but there is a bar in almost every bowling alley as well. As for the noise. Ya I totally agree.

throughout the entire show he continuously talked about how the only reason the score was close was because ej's carry was uncharacteristically bad. he even said after the first match that ej outbowled jason by at least 30 pins even though he lost the game. what are you talking about? grow up.

Joe if it's too easy you must be a millionaire who gets bored winning a few million playing a game that is ( too easy?)
@AntiTheismForever
@AntiTheismForever 4 жыл бұрын
@@louiscsanko9322 Yeah, too easy. Most lanes these days are ditched with a very predictable house oil pattern. Allows average bowlers to score far to many 200+ games. Joe Ambrose is spot on, I quit for the same reason, boredom. When you regularly see hacks waddle down the approach and bowl 200+ games you lose interest, the hours you put into perfecting your game seem wasted. The pros face tough and variable lane conditions otherwise most would likely average over 240. But ditching the lanes does make the regular patrons feel good about their average and that's just what the house wants.

JaksonRanger it can create an unlevel playing field. (altho, Robert Smith has higher revs than even a two hander) 😎
@Jaksonranger
@Jaksonranger 7 жыл бұрын
what exactly do you mean? Two handed bowling can take just as much skill and time to master, and if it doesnt cause an unfair advantage, theres not really any point to banning it.
@aasr3251

JaksonRanger physically weaker players typically are of the 2 handed variety..
@Jaksonranger
@Jaksonranger 7 жыл бұрын
If they *are* weaker, why would it be such a disadvantage to one-handed bowlers? If they are only strong enough to do well two-handed, why not let them do it? Just because they aren't strong enough to bowl 1 handed doesnt mean it creates an unlevel playing field. It just means that two-handed is their style of bowling. Doesn't mean they should ban that style. Also, i've seen people like Belmonte bowling one-handed and he is completely capable of one-handed, but prefers his two-handed style, because he is used to it. My brother also bowls two-handed but could learn one-handed if he wanted. All im saying is that just because people bowl two-handed, it doesnt mean they are weaker and it doesn't in fact create a noticable disadvantage for one handed bowlers.
