Yea, O'Neill got a few messengers to carry some of his strikes, but Zavjalova arguably got more lucky with a few of her weak hits and strange pin action. O'Neill, among many others, play with that angle and power to get a greater percentage of messengers to carry the weak 10, if the 10 is left at all. Regardless, it was a good match.

This is one (of many) differences between myself and professional bowler like Diana. On her first two shots with the stone tenpins, I would have just assumed I was unlucky. Both shots appeared to my untrained eye to be pretty flush in the pocket. But you can Diana calculating, both the lane transition and the pin action. She makes a move to different ball to adjust and immediately strikes on her next throw.

I really really enjoyed watching you I never heard of you before today but I am definitely going to find you and follow you on KZbinr wherever you might be no I'm not going to stalk you. You missed the hardest single pin spare there is and all professionals Miss tenpins from time to time so just shake it off you you're a phenomenal bowler . I was really rooting for you you have a new fan here.

I enjoyed the lack of commentary. It's overdone IMHO. When she missed the 10 pin I slumped in my chair because I knew it was over. That was a great game by both.

Grady Philpott I think there are a lot of us with a very very very rudimentary understanding of bowling who would like to watch and know what’s going on. Commentators can give us some insight into that, without that it does just devolve into what a lot of laypeople believe bowling is: throwing balls at pins.

Calculated the score in my head as the game went along. The final was 259 to 213. But your right, it does need to show and some commentary.

Additionally, the scorecard says what happens, but doesnt actually tally the score, or project how many pins one bowler is ahead or behind.

This isnt a slight against either bowler, they bowled a really clean, close, entertaining game (I'm guessing) at least through the 8th frame, but the production team for the BES could have provided the viewer with a little more help to drive home the entertainment value of the match.

I agree about the scoreboard, as my math isn't quite so good as to be able to keep score in my head, but as far as commentary goes, it just isn't that important when watching bowling or any other sport in my judgement. Yeah, good commentary is a bonus, but I can watch any sport that I understand without someone else telling me what's going on.

These were just the non televised preliminary matches. The semi finals and finals on tv of course had the crowd and commentary. The prize money was big (hence “elite”). Much bigger than regular PBA events.

I love the fact that I get to see the bowling but this is by far the most boring way it can be watched. On top of that having to figure out the scores as they go is more of a challenge than I am really looking for when I am trying to enjoy watching a game. Please find a way to post the scores and perhaps and some sort of commentary or at least music to make it more entertaining,
