BTW, it is recommended to lift up (using suction tool) glass backplate or screen from the middle, not from top or bottom part, at least in official XZ1C Maintenance manual, otherwise there is a risk of damaging these.

Great Video By the way for xperia 1 v users that cutout in the midframe for vapor chamber would help a lot for improving performance and i am so sad that they didn't actually add it on the real product 😓😓😓 but good news is they maybe finally add vapor chamber for the 1 VI

there is room, they just chose to use graphite instead. Could be cost or could be other factors like sourcing it was delayed so they didn't want to delay release or maybe other issues.

In technical terms, vapor chamber is a much better option than the 3D graphite layers like in the Xperia 1V? Or sony did just choose to pick up the graphite layers due to cheaper costs? So which is which?

There are many types of vapor chambers, both by material and by internal design how the vapors flow and transfer heat around etc. So all depends on what they could or would have used, so vapor chamber doesn't always mean its a much better option than 3D graphite. In most cases 3D graphite, if enough layers, can do just as well with heat transfer, but with some of these vapor chambers on some flagships, they have much better design than basic vapor chambers. So I'm assuming probably a cost cutting measure but they probably deemed the vapor chamber they were going to use was provided the same or similar yields to the graphite so they just went with the cheaper option.

The Sony IV generation was the last one to have the notification light. They have dropped it with the V generation. If you really want the notification light, please consider buying the 1 IV.

I have Xperia 10 IV and it has those notification lights, and works perfect for unread messages as it keeps blinking green light for notification and while charging or low batt indication as red light blinking

Seems like Sony is cheaping out on Camera lenses. They charge so much and only have OIS on 1 main camera should have on all cameras.

considering their main selling point are the cameras on their phones, I would have to agree with you. Their cameras are good (not the best) but they don't really add too many features. With the cost they charge for the 1 series I would expect more. Also keep in mind the telephoto has built in OIS as well. So only the ultra wide is missing it.

@@PBKreviews ahh I must have missed the telephoto camera part on video. I always wanted a Sony Phone, but the price for what you get is prohibitive. Only 2 years updates. The 4k display is nice. Most of the cost on this phone is the Software for Cameras. I guess it's hard putting OIS on every camera as it needs extra room in case. You think Sony would have invented a single Lens all in one camera. Meaning it does Main, Ultra wide and telephoto. It's possible with Camera lenses adjusted electronically. You would have one big Sensor with a huge bump to accommodate all lenses and zoom prizims.

👍. However depends on which xiaomi phones you go for, some are definitely not trash especially the high end ones. Hardware wise, if they had one that fully worked in the US I would probably go with a phone like the Xiaomi 14 ultra or pro vs the Xperia 1 V. But software wise I am not a huge fan of their custom OS.

I have said last year in the 1 IV teardown comment, the 1 IV teardown was a waste of your production time and budget, because there was already another one when you did it. This year, I am looking at this matter from a different angle. I have seen a bunch of request for 1 V teardown in the 5 V comment. I guess the 1 V teardown is a good use of budget as long as it generates enough views. However, I still stand by another part of my comment last year, as this 1 V teardown does not have further contribution to the internet knowledge base. As such, I would like to see a teardown of 10 V, as I can’t find one on the internet. The 10 V is probably the last 10 series phone to have a telephoto camera, a rarity in mid-range phones. Sony has even dropped the telephoto camera from the flagship 5V. Sony phones have been reducing cost in recent years which impacted customer experience, most notably the dropping of telephoto camera on the premium 5 V. The issue of having green and pink lines appearing on the screens of 5 series phones aside, Sony phones are still less worth buying in recent years.

Yup, there was a reason I didn't do it for a long time but people kept asking for it in many videos so once I was able to find one at a "decent" price I decided to do it. But yeah depending on the outcome of this and the 5 V video I will consider the 10 V.

I'm curious why you gave pixel 8 pro the same score even though, it's a massive amount of adhesives there which is a nightmare. This one is just so much straightforward. Almost screws only, almost no chanche to damage any of the parts... Just weird... Btw. Nice disassembly video.

Thanks. The score is broken down near the end of the video into sections. Just because one phone is for example an 8 and another phone is also an 8, doesn't mean in every section they are the same. Maybe one phone scores higher in part availability (to find parts and purchase them) where as another brand scores poorly in that section but higher in another so making the overall score the same. But the breakdown shows in each section what I score it to give a better understanding.
