Just ask the average Russian what happens when the state dictates what can and can not be reported in their country. Oh right, they’ll deny outright and say they do have a free press, yet the FSB will mysteriously show up at your hotel room the next morning. Don’t let that happen in the United States.

Just watched an episode tonight about the US government and military that seemed like solid journalism on the surface, but felt like the journalists and producers were pulling there punches and not holding their interview subjects (likely with key things to say that need to be said on camera by them directly) accountable with hard evidence.

Usually when the end credits appear and this music with the tympani comes up I am sitting straight up, very alert and a little shaken by what I have just watched in the previous hour. Incisive reporting, knock-out visuals, great editing. Add to that the distinctive voice of Will Lyman.
