Hard journalism is deathly serious business, it can be the only thing standing between us and a dictatorship. Just ask the average Russian what happens when the state dictates what can and can not be reported in their country. Oh right, they’ll deny outright and say they do have a free press, yet the FSB will mysteriously show up at your hotel room the next morning. Don’t let that happen in the United States.

Just watched an episode tonight about the US government and military that seemed like solid journalism on the surface, but felt like the journalists and producers were pulling there punches and not holding their interview subjects (likely with key things to say that need to be said on camera by them directly) accountable with hard evidence.

Usually when the end credits appear and this music with the tympani comes up I am sitting straight up, very alert and a little shaken by what I have just watched in the previous hour. Incisive reporting, knock-out visuals, great editing. Add to that the distinctive voice of Will Lyman.

Theme songs are important. They set the tone in ways that dialog, story or characters simply cannot. They paint the picture of what's to come. The FRONTLINE theme does so perfectly. When you hear that song, you know the content of the program is going to have validity and gravitas.

Next thing you know that they'll be discussing subject about the Corona Virus 😷 pandemic that's taking place. Both politicians, Scientists and doctors are trying to find ways on how to fight this pandemic madness before it's too late.
