Honestly, imo the nursery seeds are an exception for the HC no-buy policy in my books, since you can't really find them in raid (which i find kinda eh...) and stims are a pain in the ass to find otherwise nowadays, unless you find people that have a bunch of them with them at all times, which in no way is guaranteed...

Sort of, you gotta start off with naked runs. what for me is the fun part about hardcore, is the fact you have to actually go find the mags and ammo you need for a gun in the world. you cant just buy your entire kit from a vendor. Food and water and meds, along with ammo and mags feel like an actual accomplishment bringing home.
