I'm a 50 year old woman, who is in the gym 3-4 times a week - lifting weight at least once. I recently did decide to add creatine to my supplement routine. I'm not noticing a difference, but then I have bigger issues related to health (thyroid stuff) that has more of an impact on my energy levels and performance. (a plant based diet DOES make a significant positive difference to my energy levels btw)

I began taking Creatine about 3 or 4 months ago in order to build more muscle and help with muscle recovery/injury prevention as I age. I am 40 and just want to be able to continue doing the physical activities I love for as long as possible. I believe it can't hurt to throw a little Creatine into my daily smoothies and see what happens. So far, I have noticed that I have gained more visible muscle and feel more strong in general.

Don’t forget neurodivergent people. I’m autistic and ADHD and find that Creatine really helps with the ADHD tendency to lose our words when we’re tired or have socialized to much. The psychologist who prescribes my ADHD meds first suggested it years ago. I’m also a weightlifter and generally physically active, so it’s helpful in many areas for me.

I am a hit and miss viewer of your channel, a fellow Canuck veghead from Eastern Ontario. Love your honest, self-effacing presentation style! Just wanted to pipe in with some additional research data on Creatine. Simon Hill of The Proof interviewed Dr Darren Candow from the U of Regina who is an expert on Creatine, exercise and aging with a focus on PBWF. Their conversation recorded on Simon’s channel this time last year backs up what you are saying and adds critical details on dosage, timing, and efficacy. For a guy on a couch-well done and thanks. I’ll be back!

My husband and I both use creatine. The brands we use are VIVO Life and Vedge Nutrition. Both are vegan companies and do third-party testing for heavy metals, pesticides, and other contaminants.

Just started taking Sunwarrior creatine. Too soon to notice results but I’m pretty convinced it’s a safe supplement and I don’t take a lot of supplements in the first place. Thanks for this video 👍

Hi from Algarve, Portugal 🙂 fun tidbit: carob grows everywhere here and carob breads and cookies are common in the supermarkets.

New subscriber! I love watching you test recipes on your family as it’s extremely helpful! I just tried creatine and stopped. I got the worst cramp in my calf one night I was in tears, this has never happened to me ever so I know it was the creatine. I may try again but make sure I drink more water. Also, I’m from the Niagara region so it makes me feel at home when watching your videos. ❤

I’m right there with you Jeremy. I use Complement Essentials to support my PB diet, and I’ve been considering taking their Creatine powder as well. Thanks for discussing this timely subject 🙂

I would be interested in knowing what company you decide to go with and why. I am vegan, 67 years old, and very active. I lift weights, walk and hike, garden, backpack, etc. I did buy a creatine supplement and use it rather sporadically. I have heard that it benefits older people and people who are working out w weights, specifically. I do need to do more research myself, too. I follow Simnett nutrition too, and Derek Simnett uses creatine. He is also a vegan bodybuilder. I wanted to thank you for posting this topic. Love your videos, have made and saved a lot of your recipes, and enjoy your humor and style. Thank you! Medford, OR

Another informative and interesting video Jeremy and thanks 👍 for the disclaimer at the beginning of the video. Yes, there's a lot of misleading information about creatine and other nutrients and health care information. Love 🥰 the video and love ❤️ Jeremy & family.

I usually have my blood taken every 1-2 years. I'm vegan for 8 years- not a perfect on. Pretty much %80 wfpb and %20 just on the run and getting an impossible burger from Burger King ot air fryer a quick meal. I guess I've been lucky. My neurologist ( benign tumor so far) tells me my blood work is better than most. I'm not perfect but beans are my favorite protein.

I bought it, gave it away, The person I gave it to saw zero benefit after two months. He works out 6 days a week, is 6'2", about 215, lean with a lot of muscle, age 62, eats meat & eggs regularly. He did gain a little water weight in the stomach whereas before had visible abs. Maybe just coincidence, but he won't use it again.

Everyone is so different in how they react to these supplements. I love iT and use it everyday. I notice big effects on my energy levels and memory/motivation. It also allows me to at double my workout without fatigue or muscle pain afterwards.

I’m curious if Creapure is actually better than basic creatine. I’ve heard the micronized version causes less bloating 🤷🏼♀️

Oh dear, you are giving me a painful flashback to biochemistry class in college. Actually, it was one of the more helpful courses because it is all about understanding the chemical/biological processes in the body and understanding that can help one to also better understand medical/nutrition research and theories and figure out what makes any kind of sense and what is more obviously nonsense of which there is too much of on the internet.

And why would anyone want to gain water weight regardless of where it is? As we age we want to protect the most important muscle in the body, the heart. I can't see how carrying extra water weight has any benefit whatsoever.

In his book, Dr. G recommends “Bulk Supplements “ brand because he believes it is the purest creatinine in his research. My hubby and I have been using about 1 gram every day for nearly a year. I couldn’t get my homocysteine down without it even though I take D3 and B12. I’m excited to report that last month’s blood work showed my homocysteine is down to a 6 from 11 last year!🎉. I think creatinine is an important supplement for WFPB vegans, especially those who exercise or are elderly. Thanks for sharing! BTW, I cracked up about the arms picture “not my arms”😂
