I made that mistake because I was excited on having a 360mm aio. However the ryzen 7 1700 ran for like 6 months and only go to 75c lol. I only realized when I took he rad off to clean it

I've done it (once) There's a drama and excitement in that moment, applying the thermal paste and squishing the cooler onto it, that got me so distracted I forgot to peel. But then I don't build PCs every day as my job.

I fucked it up with my own PC, with the worst and most difficult cooler, you literally had to take out the motherboard to be able to remove the cooler. And yes, check 3 times work 1
