Another Great Discworld adventure game from Psygnosis. It looks better than Discworld, and is just as fun. There are elements from several books here as in the first game. These books are... Reaper Man, Pyramids, last Continent, and Moving Pictures mostly. Enjoy! -

I remember being stuck for ages on how to get the mouse. It seemed obvious you got it from Gimlet's but I didn't realise you could get different conversation options if you spoke to him from the table.

The point is, that this is a game, Rincewind knows this is a game. Therefore many of his natural characteristics can be nulled. Plus, if he didn't end up being more adventurous in the game than in the books, there would be no game.

In Europe its called Missing Presumed in both versions. In America its called Mortality Bites for both PS1 and PC

Honestly I liked 1 better, the UI and everything looked so much better. Here, places are in wierd angles, and Rincewind looks like some disney villain.

John Doe NO! if you don't make it by an indie developer or AS an indie developer then it will turn 3d or some shit like that and not using 2d animation at all or just it more "polished" ending up ruining it.

magnusm4 GTA V was polished up from the GTA 3 3d to hd and rockstar made over 1 billion. If you keep living in the past and keep relying on an old engine how are you going to make it worth peoples while to get the discworld 1 or 2 reboot with the upgrades? Thats like saying yeah release a next gen game and tell the indie developer to just keep it 2d on a system designed for next gen gaming.

John Doe gta 3 and 4 was a 3d game, monkey island was originally a bit game than then became 2d animation then a horrible 3d but then a good 3d but still 3d. Try make the same expression and animation in 3d with the same feel as 2d, it's not possible. I mainly mean don't change the style from the original. If it's a dark atmospheric game then make the sequels the same instead of doing like blizzard and make d3 a brain dead action linear gore fest rather than a great and dark adventure with calm moments and beautiful atmosphere and music.

These kinds of games are usually supposed to have an option to adjust the subtitle speed. I don't remember dialogues going this slowly.

Now Discworld works with ScummVM which is much simpler that DosBox...

Grrr, my version has a totally different dialogue when I click on granny weatherwax. Something like "As she's asleep there's not much point" so I can't complete the ladder quest with Casanunda. Very aggravating.

This seems like a good adventure game at all, but what the unrighteous FUCK was that funeral intro?! 12 second delays between dialogue, dead-wrong matching of atmosphere, not to mention a slightly offensive parody of death and funerary services... I guess I can look past it though, its still charming.

the newest version of scummVM supports discworld 1 and 2, it would probably work. I have legit copys, and they play great on vista with scummVM.

I can't find this place on the Playstation version. Could you be so kind as to advise me on how I find this place? When I skim around for it on the map that shows all the places, where you clicked for the shop, im getting nothing at all.

yeah 1 was much better, i didnt even finish this game, i just unstalled it after a few hours into it, its just too weird, the story is all over the place, the humor falls flat, the dialoge is annoying and takes forever, the camera angles are all bad, and the characters all just look weird... i wish they would just have taken the style from the first game :(

Having just finished watching a run of 1, I have to say it felt much more random, and often convoluted at times. There didn't seem to be a clear logical connection between the things you were doing, or the places you were going. It felt like you'd just wander around, pick up whatever you could, and go with trial and error from there.

Elyseon btw yes you can select the dialogue speed at the start of your game... (i saw your other post about that) but still... this game was just rediculous to play through... im actually a fan of old adventure games, i regularly play through games like monkey island or day of the tentacle etc, but this game really just took the extremes, i didnt even feel like completing it...
