This pitch was slow and a rank turner. Suryakumar Yadav played a crucial role in India's Super Over win against Sri Lanka in the 3rd T20I. Despite resting key players, India managed to defend a modest target of 138 thanks to Suryakumar's smart captaincy and bowling in the final overs. With Sri Lanka needing just 9 runs off the last 12 balls to win, Suryakumar brought himself on to bowl the 20th over. He took two wickets off his first two balls to tie the match and take it to a Super Over. In the Super Over, Suryakumar sealed the win by hitting a sweeping shot off the first ball he faced. He later revealed that he had told the team he had seen such games before and they should just go for it. Suryakumar's inventive captaincy, including trusting part-time bowlers Rinku Singh and himself in crunch overs, was key to India's victory despite resting multiple star players. His all-round leadership and composure under pressure proved decisive in the series whitewash over Sri Lanka.

*The Chief of Pakistan cricket, during his recent visit to the USA, claimed he would implement major reforms for the betterment of the sport in Pakistan. However, it appears that no substantial changes will occur. In just a few days, he made unilateral decisions to allocate funds for infrastructure projects under the guise of improving cricket. The primary budget that Pakistan receives from the ICC was manipulated to ensure his personal gain, with the funds being redirected towards infrastructure under his control. His role seems limited to securing and misappropriating these funds. The real issues facing Pakistani cricket are now being left to his assistants to address. The Chief lacks practical experience and knowledge of cricket, having never played the game himself. In time, it will become clear that these so-called reforms are merely a façade for old forms of corruption.*

All the claims of bringing drastic changes in the Pakistan Cricket system is nothing but an eye wash. If you talk about the player's performance and non- performance, then you can see that Pakistan has only a set of players who have been playing for the last 7-8 years. Same faces, no new entrants. There was a time, when there was a lot of noise made regarding Asif Ali, Hyder Ali, Khushdil Shah, Haris Sohail, Iftekhar Ahmed, Mohd. Nawaz. In the last 2 years these guys were swiftly changed, or dropped and replaced by a few new names like Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique etc. Khushdil Shah, Asif Ali, Hyder Ali, Mohd. Nawaz.. all were shown the door, and after the T20i World Cup, Mohsin Naqvi diverts attention from the failure by announcing restructuring of everything, which means dropping of players who are non- performers and so..the guillotine falls on Saim Ayub, Usman Khan ( who was brought into the team after snatching from UAE), Azam Khan etc. They don't give the opportunity to Mohd. Haris whereas they don't have a pool of players. So, in the name of changes Old WR Horses like Khushdil, Hyderabad, Asif are being brought back.. there's no 4th player available. Similarly, they have a dearth of Coaches or Expert Cricketers who can guide their players. Everything is a stop gap. There's no log term policy. Mohd. Hafiz, Wahab Riaz, Inzamam Ul Hak, Waqar Younus, Mohd. Yousuf, Saqlain Mushtaq.... There are no other names you can find.. These same set of guys keep rotating.. Some for a series, some for 2-3 months or at the max 6 months. And these guys come, manage to gain some financial benefits and leave. And this includes the Chairman himself. So, why would a Chairman be interested in developing the Cricket when he knows that he's going to be there for a max 6 months. That's why, his contention becomes nothing but minting free money to safeguard his future. Salman Butt and some like minded players will keep crying hoarse because nothing is going to change and this outcome even these cricketing brains also know.
