As soon as I saw that 120 aio I knew that it would go down the drain. You can build a mini itx with better cooling and a 4090 and a decent case for the price they charge. Still love your videos ! Well done
@georgec29329 ай бұрын
Good on you for giving an honest review. I'd never buy a pre-built but like you said, some people may not be confident enough to build their own and will be happy to pay a bit more for someone else to do it and to have the peace of mind of being able to get it repaired under warranty. It does look like a nice compact little system that looks good and makes good use of space. However, it feels like a few missed opportunities... from the video it looks like there's space to double the size of the rad on the CPU loop, they've cheaped out on the motherboard and removing pretty core functionality from the BIOS like fan control is pretty poor!

This is just like Corsair's AIO systems which don't let you lower pump speed. I switched over from a Corsair AIO to a Lian Li Asetek AIO and couldn't be happier. I have full control of fan and pump speed and under gaming I am not hitting the same RPM as idle with a Corsair.

that cpu cooler is a hilarious try at cooling a ridiculous cpu. just… why??

Slim fans are *almost* useless- especially if you’re using it to push through a radiator. The strangest thing about this over engineered and underperforming prebuilt pc is that Corsair already had a well cooled smaller pc.

The real question is are the people who purchase this really going to be messing with fan speeds and running benchmark testing on it? As you said in the beginning this is for people who want a pc but lack the confidence or know how of building one. They just want a 14900 and a 4080 or 4090.

Totally agree with your take on the thermal set up. My GPU and CPU hang out at 70 to 80 because I keep my fans turned down and that’s much better

Once they work out the bugs re: cooling, and the price drops a bit, this will be a great machine. Very happy with my Corsair One a200, which has a 5900x/3080ti. Silent, small, very high quality and still fast. It has performed flawlessly for the last 2 years, and I picked it up at that time on sale for 2800.00, which was a very good value. Hopefully they iron out the bugs and price and I would be interested when I upgrade.
@rileyhance3188 ай бұрын
I think the og corsair one was cooler bc it actually did stuff you couldnt do with a off the shelf case. having a rad on each side with a air tight seal letting all of the airflow be handled by one fan at the top is genius.

Main reason why I build my own. I think I would buy a prebuilt if the BIOS was not locked and the price was right. But I rather spend the extra money on quality components. PCs are not had to build.

Way to call it like it is. Bravo for common sense. 👍 Nice to see you without googly eyes and without a grin larger than the Cheshire cat's when something Corsair comes along. haha Good job. GN tore down a similar Dell Alienware prebuilt with a 120mm AIO on a 13900k in an all plastic case with minimal ventilation, so that it throttled to the point of 13600 level performance or something. Both yours and Steve's reactions are priceless. One would think these companies might know something about PC thermals and such... Appreciate your vids most when you are genuine, mate. I certainly can see the reason to have the fanspeed profiles hardcoded in a computer like this. Thing is I've worked with computer repair and computer support for a lot of years, and the times the problems were caused by users doing stupid shit with fan controls or other such things was way to common. The cost of that support can become quite high, and if you are selling gaming computers to end users it can only grow worse. I have a feeling they really would want to remove the CMOS setup utility if they felt that users would accept it. Now the 120mm radiator was a very strange solution. I can only guess that they experimented and discovered that a 240mm radiator would inhibit the airflow so the GPU radiator might run warm. But at the same time it looked like it would be simple to ad another fan to the lower side panel. That should improve the airflow enough to compensate for a 240mm radiator for the CPU. Or did I miss something in the design?

Corsairs stuff often looks pretty good even when it really isn't worth the money. The funny thing is that my first contact with Corsair was a quite long time ago. Back then they sold memory and not much if anything else. And their memory was often made for servers, At the time they didn't have anything with a "gamer" look. Heck I remember the first time they added heat spreaders to the memory sticks. We still only used those for a few faster computers. Then is a few years just about all memory that stretched the JEDEC standards had heat spreaders. Yes, heat spreaders not heatsinks. The idea was to spread the heat so all memory chips were the same temperature. We were still buying server grade memory from them as they were really very good at building those and sold them for a very good price. This was before they started selling PSU, keyboard, mice or fans. They were a memory company selling memories and nothing else. They never made memory chips though but like most other memory "brands" they used the big manufacturers chips and only produced the PCB's and mounted the Samsung, Micron and whatever other manufacturers chips they want.
