ANACS definitely is a good choice for some things., especially if it's not a high dollar coin or is one for your personal collection. I've made multiple submissions to NGC and PCGS but I'll be doing my first ANACS submission soon.

Research of the 1853 10C has revealed 39 different obverse dies of which 15 have hubbed dates and arrows. The identification of the individual unhubbed date and arrows varieties was accomplished through measurements of the date position and the horizontal and vertical positions of the left arrow. It is likely that this coin underwent additional examination to determine the proper variety as there are so many.

Looks like they were confused and mixed coins up. The1943 was more like a ms 65 instead of an AU 55. Idk what they were doing on that day.

I have ben collecting for 65 years I'm 77 now. I have never paid for a grading service. I will buy graded coins. Sometimes for les than it cost to grade.

I've been using PCGS for going on 2 years now, and have been mostly happy with their services. My last submission, not so much... I submitted a 1975 D "high D" Jefferson nickel. It's as clear as day that's what it is. I even looked it up and saw that PCGS had a graded example AND had a small section talking about them on their website. I submitted it and paid the extra fee for the mint error. It took 4 months to get back, and they graded it as if it were a normal coin submission. Comparing my True View images to the ones they have listed, you can clearly see the difference. I called them and asked why I didn't receive what I paid for, and was pretty much told "I don't know, send it back in" at my expense. I was not happy. As much as a membership cost AND the grading fee, they should make that right. Same deal with them not returning your COAs and a cracked slab... that's unacceptable.

I have heard a ton of stories exactly like yours! Even the most prominent KZbin coin gurus get there coins back from grading and still have issues. Now it seems, some of the new issues there having is damage on the coins coming back. Just curious what coin grading company you would move to next? ( If your changing )

@@letslookbrad I would really like to stick with PCGS for the sake of my registry. I also really enjoy their True View service and the simplicity of the holders they come in so I don't want to stop using them altogether... I just want them to do right by their customers. That's probably wishful thinking though. As long as they're getting paid, it's hard for them to care. I still have 8 vouchers to use so it would be a waste not to. Personally, I would go with NGC as my second option though.

@@letslookbrad I'm 63. I have many pcgs and ngc coins that I bought and they will resell faster on ebay but experienced collectors will determine the coins value whether graded or raw. Nice videos

Just got another 14 coin order back from ANACS no issues. I usually grade ( my grade) within 1 grade of ANACS if I don’t hit it on the nose. I use them exclusively now.

I've never submitted a single coin to PCGS. The fact that they take about 6 months alone is ludicrous. Who knows what could happen in that amount of time. The cost to get a coun graded from them is also ludicrous. All that put together just puts a bad taste in my mouth. Nearly all my coins in my collection will probably stay with me until death so I'll probably stick with ANACS. I know most collectors prefer PCGS but, until they get they're act together I'll be supporting ANACS. With that said I've only had 2 coins graded. Sorry for the headache you were delt with grading your coins. Nice pieces in general though. Crack those beauties out & send them to NGC. Great video by the way. I could feel your frustration.

I definitely prefer ANACS! On the NGC or PCGS side, they can recognize and slab varieties. The only reason I would send coins to them. Yea, that 6 month wait is bonkers. I’m the type of guy who wants in back in a timely manner. I get edgy, insecure thoughts and pushy when my valuables aren’t near me after a period of time. I have an ANACS return yesterday. Il have the video up tonight for y’all.

That 1853 dime is nice. PCGS is even using your picture on its site as the example. It is a F-105 variety. It says your is the only one in xf40. There are many varieties of hubbed and unhubbed coins in the arrows dimes but I can’t figure what the differences are either.

Hub the defintion for hub is positive image punch to impresss the coins design into a die for coinage so un hubbed so un hubbed may mean the difference between buisness and proof strikes orbits fake maybe butni see the type designation so it must be a type os seated or whatever

I called back to them twice to at least get my penny reslabbed, then to reverify who did my grades. Lady answered but never submitted the information to me and a box to send them back.

How many times and in how many hands will a SUPPOSED CLEANED or ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE. or some other cocktail and bullshit story be sent back into a grading service? FACE IT FOLKS, if you are an experienced collector YOUR JUDGEMENT IN GRADING IS JUST SS GOOD AN OPINION SS SOME SERVICE where the graders have 5 years OR LESS experience!

I moved over to ANACS for my grading now. There way cheaper and the graders have been there for many years. I really want the coins in a slab for my kids purpose. I do want the coins to be graded directly with details coming back on them. It’s a learning curve for sure and a lot of us new coin guys/gals are soaking it up as we go. Thanks for the comment Roy! @@royrauch9775 A lot of times, I wonder to different coin shops near me and speak with them. $20 gold piece is a good one to have. The market gets so volatile with those prices going up and down. Usually it’s a better premium on a coin bases than it is on a bullion stand point.

The Cheerios penny comes in a COA case or a paper packet. The grading company transfers it to a slab with the attributes.

great coins and great submissions. wild that that case is cracked . that nickel does infact look like a greese strike pcgs might not do those for any coin but im not sure. the penny at the end totally natural and the 1882 s morgan is toning like that BEcouse it was cleaned. its not from scrubbing or scratches still a great coin and they should have graded it

Overwhelmed and making tons of mistakes. There are really only 4 reputable grading services and each has its own niche. PCGS for dealers and those planning on selling their coins. NGC for collectors and also selling coins. (Good for older coins) then you have the first service - the ones that created the concept - ANACS and they are best for foreign coins and errors… they recognize more varieties than all the others - but they do a great job and get a bad rep. Finally there is ICG and I really like them. No membership and a great value. Best for those that plan on keeping their coins and collecting. Also great for modern coins. They were started by a few former NGC graders about 25 years ago. So new but not so new. I cannot wait for the new CAC grading service to come out…. They will finally give PCGS some competition and make them get their crap together. PCGS and NGC both maintain populations and control pricing…. Not cool… most collectors just want to know that the coin is legit, has a fair grade assignment and is protected. Thanks for the video. 6 months is ridiculous. The same order would have cost 1/2 and been returned to you. In 1/4 of the time with others.

I just submitted my first 2 coins yesterday. I am now terrorized. One is a 1942 S 1c silver that might be an experimental "white metal" planchet. It's gone forever I'm sure or I'll get nothing back. 😒

Why do you guys keep bending over for the coin grading companies that are willing to body bags or detail grade your coins to speed up there grading turn around time? It's because you want your coins to be more valuable and you're willing to put up with their abuse for a chance at it. Either put up with BS and accept their abuse or stop doing business with them. If the collectable coin industry wouldn't have all put PCGS and NGC on a pedestal maybe they would be treating their low level customers with some respect.

Completely understand the outlook. I only care about having the coins in a nice protective case. A good sum of my coins came from my mom and her mom too. Plus I’ve only went through the services of getting them graded a handful of times. Definitely a learning experience.

@@letslookbrad I buy PCGS and NGC graded coin but I wouldn't send coins to them to be graded becuase of their poor service. CAC is going to come on the scene and maybe that will cause PCGS and NGC to shape up from the added competition but I kind'a have my doubts. The coin flippers out there bad mouth ANACS and IGC but those guys view the coin world in accordance about how much profit they can turn in the short run so that mean s they grade their coin with PCGS or NGC but the flippers have be grumbling lately with extended turn around times and with CAC coming on the scene, things are likely to change. Coin flippers are interested in quick resale with the most profit so the coin flipping industry prefers PCGS and NGCv but with the ever increasing turn around time that may change. I think ICG and ANACS do a good job grading coins. I like ICG holders the best because they are compact and sturdy and fit in most all storage boxes. PCGS has been on a roll with returning coins for grading as cleaned detailed or questionable color and a variety of other reasons to return the coin ungraded in body bags. I would stay clear of them. They might be dinging coins to show how tough they are at grading by sacrificing the minor leaguer's coin grades to build their rejection numbers up and cater to their big ticket big number coin reseller customers. I doubt that the PCGS and NGC graders are any more more qualified than ICG or ANACS grading services. They just hold the name brand, for now.

Quite possible. I submitted with them probably 10 months ago, they came back good grades and none cleaned. I’ve heard a lot of unhappy stories in the past few months on them.

As far as the 1918 can't really see it in hand but if the fields are super clean absolutely no sort of contact marks or anything the reason why it got questionable color is because there are few high-grade 1918 reds and the people that have those well the more of them there are that gets submitted and graded well the more that the price overall devalues that coins color is just red I think that whenever they give a questionable color designation it's because the coins great is too high and they can't stand behind a grade that's obviously way off so they just disqualify it that's the way I feel about it and the turnaround time absolutely horrendous we pay good money for memberships and grading fees yet it's just completely unacceptable for the turnaround time

I haven’t tried NGC yet. I dropped off my 11 coin order to ANACS on Tuesday of last week. I used them a couple times in the past. One subscriber said CaC was doing some coin grading now.
