Paul, great video. What camera did you use to take it? Is the 6x timelapse a setting on the camera or did you speed the video up in post-production? Also, how did you know exactly where to go as you were riding? My girlfriend and I will be doing this ride Saturday.

That was a Sony HDRAS100V/W mounted to the handlebars. I sped it up in post with PowerDirector.. too long and too boring for 1x My new favorite thing is the Insta360 One X camera. I wish I had it back in 2014. The viewer gets to decide what camera view to see by dragging their mouse. Check it out from Phi Phi Thailand kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJrWoaqcot2qe7M

Sausalito is a walking distance from Fisherman's Wharf? how long it takes? or can we take a bus there? We'll be there in June. First time in San Francisco. Awesome video!! Thank You!!
@pchan61117 жыл бұрын
Google Maps says 3 hours to walk it... I would recommend renting bicycles. I'm sure there are buses you can take but they won't give you the view of the Golden Gate Bridge like riding (or walking) across it will. www.google.com/maps/dir/Sausalito,+CA/Fisherman's+Wharf,+San+Francisco,+CA/@37.8164417,-122.4810112,13z/data=!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x8085845331c92675:0xb903aa6d828f51ee!2m2!1d-122.4852507!2d37.8590937!1m5!1m1!1s0x808580fa79aee3b9:0xd0ce5b8bf914906a!2m2!1d-122.4177434!2d37.8079996!3e1

Great video! Planned to do this with a 14 yr old and an 11yr old but the traffic looks pretty heavy in some spots. Any thoughts?

It's all bike path until you get on Alexander from Vista Point on the North end. While there is auto traffic, the shoulder is decent until a short section as you get into town where you have to ride in the traffic lane to get around parked cars. But by then the speed limit is down to 25 MPH (from 35 MPH). You could probably turn left on Alexander from the Vista Point and wind down under the bridge and around Horseshoe Bay an go that way. But for us at that point, it was nice to have the downhill run all the way into Sausalito. We saw plenty of kids and yours are old enough certainly. The 11 year old you can probably still convince to be mindful, but the 14 year old already knows everything about everything and certainly more about bike riding than you ;-) You'll be fine. Enjoy!

Good video.That hill at about the 5 minute mark looks tough. Lots of people walking their bikes. Where did you rent the bikes? And is parking easy to find? Ill be there in May 2017.
@pchan61117 жыл бұрын
That first hill is quite the climb, some parts steeper than others. My best advice is when you pick up your bikes is to check and make sure the tires are at full inflation, no sense making it more work than it needs to be. We rented our bikes from San Francisco Bicycle Rentals www.bikerentalsanfrancisco.com at their Fisherman's Wharf location, and I would rent there again. We were staying at the Comfort Inn on Van Ness Ave which was close enough to walk, so we didn't have to deal with parking. Have fun, riding the bridge is definitely a must do.

How did you get back to Fisherman's Warf? Planning to bike to Sausalito this summer, but not sure if we should take the ferry back or ride the bike back.

hey Paul, great video man, I have a question , how long did it took the bike ride to get to sausalito , I'm planning to take my family this coming weekend , thanxx ..
@pchan61117 жыл бұрын
Plan on a couple hours to allow time to enjoy yourselves and stop to look around. Google Maps says 50 minutes on a bike but that is non-stop. Have fun, it's a great ride.

Yeah very cool! Great songs also! I'll be doing the same thing in august. Do you have some tips about bike parking in Sausalito? I intend have lunch there and going back by boat.
@pchan61118 жыл бұрын
+Alex Pereira There are lots of bike racks by the ferry terminal. The bikes we rented came with locks so we locked them up, then hit the sidewalk for a while in search of burgers and root beer. Ended up with fish and chips though. Have fun!

Too fast to ride on my turbo in the garage. Can it be done at normal speed. I project videos onto a screen over my garage door. Makes training sessions much more enjoyable.

Please tell me what songs you used. I want to listen to these when we go in a few months during our ride haha

+Matthew Rennie 1. Theme from The Streets of San Francisco tv show - The Ventures 2. San Franciscan Nights - Eric Burdon & The Animals 3. Monterey - Eric Burdon & The Animals 4. Sausalito Summernight - Diesel.... nice live version from 2010, kzbin.info/www/bejne/pX7LaYNjpp6qgMk The bike ride is highly recommended. Close to 10 mile ride but awesome way to see the bridge. Make sure when you rent the bikes to check the tire pressure, you can thank me later. Have fun.
