@@POWLAX not completely wrong but the women's game emphasizes more bottom hand at the bottom of the stick, top hand mid-way down or lower. This sets up a lot of one-handed techniques (long grabs, dodges, walk the dog), stick protection is fundamentally different because you don't have long poles or aggressive wrap checks to deal with. kzbin.info/www/bejne/baWoiqVsoZyYq9U team USA/MD demo here using some of the vertical cradling you mention but you can see here it is specific to when a defender is directly behind and you are working for a quick exchange or getting to a better triple threat position.
