How do I temporarily turn off the sync/automatic back-up feature? I have backed-up all files from a MacBookPro 2010 and MacBookPro 2017. Now I want to wipe the two laptops clean and drop them off for recycling. Then I want to transfer the pCloud stored files from the old laptops onto a new laptop and turn the sync feature on again. pCloud support does not understand my concern about losing all files on current desktops and pCloud Drive and keeps pointing out that the set-up is bi-directional, which I understand that is why I want to know how to turn sync off. They also can't clarify if my Crypto Folder is also defaults to bi-directional sync (I'd be surprised if it is). I have followed all of their instructions and yet test files continue to sync.

@@MartyEnglander After a 5-day back and forth I think I finally got the solution " If you have used the "Stop" button to put end to a transfer via Sync or Backup, and you still see movement in the status bar (at the bottom of the Sync or Backup tab), there is one more option: 1. Open the Account tab 2. Click on "Unlink" This will stop all running transfers and it will reset the app`s settings. Let me know if you have any further questions. "

You can use GDrive like that, using a separate software... Technically you can use Software like Mountain Duck, AirLiveDrive to get this feature with any Cloud service... pCloud provides this feature within their app (mount)

Hi Marty, thanks for useful video. At your last segment where you were going to demonstrate a test folder, does that mean these files in your Pcloud Drive, also take up space in your local drive? I did right clicked and it showed xxx GB out of 500GB used.

Hello, Yes and no. You can view all the files listed in the drive and this does not take up physical space. If you open the specific file, it will take up space as you need the copy to view it on your computer. This is the same across all onlien storage providers. If you visit pcloudoffer.com and scroll to "where to save your files from now on" - this gives further info on this. Hope this helps. M

I suscribed to Pcloud and I started backing up all my video ans photos files on pcloud drive (easier from a hard drive) but I can't find the same docs on pcloud web ! and some mp4 videos have become THM. So I can see on my pcloud drive all my downloads but not on cloud web ! Thanks for your help

Depending on the file size dictates how much time you need to wait for it to be upload. Sounds like either you've uploaded large files which are taking time to upload/sync or the files are not syncing - perhaps have a browse through the app settings and make sure its all config correctly.

Im not 100% I understand your comment, the capitalisation is slightly off-putting but hopefully this answers. The syncing process happens automatically. If you install the desktop app, you should be able to copy and paste files from folders which will then auto sync to your personal cloud. Hope this helps.

You would download the desktop application of pcloud and then drag the files into the application

Ive seen some people say glowing things and other saying not great things. I can only speak from my experience and that's a pleasant one. Regarding support, I've contacted them twice and each time was fast and straight to the point. $350 for 2tb is pretty cheap and saves you around $600👍

I think that offer is only if friends join on a paid plan otherwise people can setup unlimited fake accounts using that method.

@@MartyEnglander i use the free plan so im supposed to get 10gb for free. did the other tasks to unlock 1gb each and did the "invite friends" too BUT i only unlocked 1gb when around 3 of my friends joined through the link I sent them. shouldn't I be unlocking 3gb ? 1gb per person?
