none of these instructions work on Big Sur. Program does operate but the MacOS It can't read .bin and even getting 3rd party extractor won't extract from the BIOS. The games are in bin and they are also greyed out.

I play the pcxsr on my Mac. I wanna use cheats but I can’t get it to work. I downloaded the proper cheat files, go to the cheat system, load up the cheats, check the boxes of the chests I wanna use, and press apply, but nothing ever happens in the game. I tried restarting the game, pressing the proper buttons to activate the cheats, etc. and still nothing happens. I don’t think it’s the cheats codes. I double checked on forums to make sure they work. Can you help me with my problem? I don’t know how to get the cheat codes to work even after enabling them

hello jalifi, there are a few sites to download the games. really you just have to search in google 'ps1 roms' and find sites that have the games to download. one i just used is coolrom.com. another is emuparadise which i have used before

Hey I know it’s a year late but if anyone knows how to fix this that’d be awesome. When I open it and get the Missing BIOS screen there’s only OK, nothing that brings me right to the folder. It says I should copy the bios to Library/Application Support/Pcsx/Bios, but there is no Pcsx folder in Application Support. Can anything be done about games running slightly slow? It's not too bad, but still annoying. The sound's a bit jumpy too. Will changing anything in preferences help? Running on a MacBook Pro Retina 2013. Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7. Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3. Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB.

@@SonarSystemsCoUk I switched the graphics plugin from OpenGL driver to SoftGL driver. That's fixed the issue. Cut scenes are no longer jumpy and things are being displayed properly. There seems to be some glitches with OpenGL. Although gameplay graphics were better on OpenGL. Oh well.

Thanks for this. I've got the emulator running (MBP RET Early 2015. i7/16gb RAM. I've downloaded a ROM (Metal Gear Solid) I'm getting slightly stuttering sound though when I play. I've tried all sorts of combinations of settings. The only one that got rid of the stuttering was to change the graphics setting to another driver. This sorted the stuttering but made the graphics really low res. Any ideas how to smooth out the audio?

I'm trying to get Parasite Eve 2 working. I just get the Squaresoft title screen and nothing more. I've tried the Parasite Eve 2 fix, and without, and neither work for me. I've tried multiple versions of the US Parasite Eve 2 rom, but no luck. I know this is a common problem, but just wondering if you had any insight. Thanks!

@@SonarSystemsCoUk yeah. i haven't had any problems with Parasite Eve 1, and other Squaresoft games.It appears to be a common problem. There's a tick on the preferences to use if you play Parasite Eve 2. I've tried it, but it hasn't helped.
