0:46 How come you didn't do any cowbow camping? I hear that's all the rage on the PCT.
2:39 You were forced to skip some beautiful sections for obvious reasons. If you could have skipped other sections instead, which would they have been?
3:21 Since diet is very different on a thru hike, has it had any effect on your overall health, or gut health beside the weight loss?
4:34 I'd love to know how you edited your video (which program you used) on trail and some of the "how to's" for how to tell the story and record it & and be somewhat succinct!
5:29 Are there are big hikes from Bigfoots home country that you might go over seas and do with him?
6:40 Any plans to back and do Baden-Powell?
7:30 How do you feel about tent camping now vs before the PCT?
8:22 Ever think of doing the LT in VT?
9:25 Do you think the PCT would have been hammockable? Would you hammock camp PCT northern sections or just tent?
10:12 You mentioned rules of safety when picking a place to stop when eating lunch. Can you share more about what you mean?
11:57 Is there a way you could list where you dropped your resupply boxes? Rough guide to your PCT trip?
12:14 Weight start and finish? Post trail foot care thoughts?
13:30 How much did you spend in total?
15:48 What are you going to do next? CDT?

I totally read the question about post trail foot care wrong. While I don't think much care is need post trail I do think pre trail can help make your hike much for comfortable and I talk about that in this video.

The owner of Tensa did the entire PCT with a hammock a few years ago. Of course he had to use a stand in the desert. I don't remember if he used a trekking treez or a full Tensa stand.

I did the JMT with a hammock and agree with your assessment. It wasn't too bad in July, but I'll take a tent next time.

My favorite vlog is when you hiked with your daughter. Would love a few blogs about family hiking, what to bring, who packs what and how to help kids or new hikers to hike without getting injured, pole work, how different landscapes affect walking etc..

Working on another hike with her. She's in the phase now where she changes her mind a lot. But she has recently expressed interest again.

are you going to be making a Pct documentary?
@FrozensAdventures
@FrozensAdventures Сағат бұрын
Lots of interest on this and honestly I would love to!! The first step for me was switching to a new video editor and I am learning the ins and outs of the software now. If I do a documentary I'd expect a fall release as I really want to dial everything in and do it right. The last documentary pushed me to be a better video editor and I want to do the same again.

What is your reaction to Canada's ban over walking across their border to the end of the PCT? I heard this yesterday.
@FrozensAdventures
@FrozensAdventures 18 сағат бұрын
To me I don't think it's as big of a deal as they are making it out to be. Most didn't enter into Canada and the people that did were stuck for a few days waiting for a bus shuttle that filled up very fast anyway. Had I not coordinated a ride with my parents I think it would have been better to go back to Harts pass and take the shuttle down into Mazama.

@@FrozensAdventures Good reply in my opinion. At the end of a PCT hike going back to Harts Pass is almost as fast, maybe even faster than going through Canada unless you have a specific reason to do so (like being Canadian). The exception is if there are winter conditions when you reach the border. I'm not a US citizen and went back to Harts Pass just to avoid the hassle of exiting the US and then having to reenter the US again without having "officially" left.

Thanks for answering the cowboy camping question (fellow PA hiker here). Is this the new camera? Looks great. What editor did you have problems with and what are you considering? I've been loving Davinci Resolve - bit of a learning curve but free and supports 10 bit 4:2:2 and 4k

I have an LTD (ESP) 607B. It's a 7 string, solid body with active EMG's. Great tone on the thing! It could use a string replacement and some love. I haven't been motivated to pick it up in a few years though but I will get back into it.

Welcome back So your video editor is giving you troubles since you haven't said what it is I'm going to take a guess that it is probably one of the newest DaVinci resolves the ones with the AI bullcrap in it And if so if that's the case and you will have to upgrade your processor to one of the newest intels or maybe to the newest AMDs but you already know about those Or maybe even an arm a small rig of some sort just for light duty but then again you have your phone for that since that's arm base anyways Well take care young man Hope you and the family are doing good well you're looking good so there's that Hope work is going good for you and one day maybe who knows when we might be able to get another KZbin meet up going again Cheers dude

Hey CG hope you have been well! Actually Adobe Premiere CC has been a trainwreck for me the past year and it finally made me switch to Davinci Resolve Studio. I only have 3 videos on it but it's already 300 times better than what I've been dealing with in Adobe. My RTX 3070 and 9700K are handling resolve fine. But my wife needs a computer soon so I'll be building a new one for me next winter and giving her this PC.
@cgriggsiv

@FrozensAdventures Adobe premiere all that made it even worse for you That's one of the things you might want to get rid of and go to DaVinci resolve

@FrozensAdventures Are you going to get yourself to 5090 right along with the the newest AMD and the creator board?? With 8,000 megaz DDR5 I know I would if I were you maybe not the video card so much but the other is yes
@FrozensAdventures
@FrozensAdventures 16 сағат бұрын
@cgriggsiv nah probab ly a 5070ti or 5070. I don't need all the power for a xx80 or xx90 series. And I'll stay Intel as I've had bad luck with AMD in the past.

Wouldn't recommend the Kungsleden, mainly because it's overrun, too expensive, bad weather and mosquitos. The Trail is ok, but it could be a lot better. It's very monotonous and there are better trails in scandinavia.

10k in total, is that about the same as the AT? Glad my 4 years of 1 dollar Patreonage covered 0,5% of this hike, money well spend! :) p.s. I send you a DM on Patreon months ago but not sure if you still check those.

For some reason I've been having a ton of problems with that platform and message notifications. Sorry I will manually check now! I only spent $1000 per month out there so it was around $5200, much much cheaper than a PCT hike.
