Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a nice weekend and staying well. I wanted to let you know that after many requests, I finally made a playlist of songs I’ve used for these PCT videos! Here it is open.spotify.com/user/mcj28/playlist/1Tc8SF3m2I7c1DJH1p9mML?si=zDtesEgxTkmAe1HaTve1tg

Mari, once you're done with the planned episodes, what you could do is a video where the approach is an almost 'greatest hits' of the most beautiful sunsets, summits, and campsites, but with no dialogue and simply pairing that footage with the playlist of your fave songs (and maybe some new ones?). This would be a great, slowed down, super-cut of the trail, but with no structure or dialogue; something very chill and almost zen. Think about it!
@TheTrailDancer4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mari, Your playlist is seriously awesome!! Being a professional dancer, my life is music! Question, what service do you use for adding music to your KZbin vids? Do you find any that you like the best? Thanks..

The mischievous looks from Nick in the beginning were adorable! This 78 yrs. old grandma has fallen in love with you both. You are so positive throughout...I think this video was so honest, not complaining about the conditions, just honest. You are such a great role model, Mari...I am so blessed to have found your blogs...look forward to seeing where the future takes you and Nick. Be well and safe...God bless you both🥰

'Just being thankful for what I have, and re-framing what is categorically a negative thing (the pandemic) into something positive, where there are goals that I can plan, train, and work towards in anticipation. I thought these videos would be a painful reminder of what I'm not doing, but instead they still jsut excite me. Still can't wait to get on the trail! #PCT2021

I feel ya. I grew up in WA and I know the weather and biting cold. Even though it’s still technically summer, when you are in the shadow of the cascades it creates its own weather: massive rain. The west side and east side of mount rainier is like two different countries. Totally different climates. It’s breath taking scenery when you can get glimpses of it through the clouds. But the numb fingers snd the numb face gets pretty painful darter awhile. But I’m still enjoying your adventures. Thanks for posting. Aren’t you glad that you went last year? This year round have been impossible

Loving the videos! Been backpacking a bunch, but now I've got the itch for the PCT! Trying to slowly get my fiancé into it with out scaring her off of it by bringing it up TOO much. When you guys are cooking in the vestibule at night in the rain do you mess with going and tying up a critter bag with your smellables after or just leave it in the pack in the vestibule?

Awesome Job on the series. I am sad it is coming to an end. I can imagine the weariness of being with your on thoughts over an extended period of time. Did you find that to be as much a challenge as the physical part of the wet trail? Hope that is not a dumb question. Just curious?

It really surprises me how many hikers are hiking the PCT right now. All of you were told to stay home we are in this pandemic together and you are risking other small towns because some of you could get sick along the way and not even know it. Almost everybody that was going to hike this trip this year has stopped. So please reconsider your trip I’m not trying to be negative nelly, but all you hikers were asked to stop at one point or another but yet you decide to hike. I wish I could go hiking right now but I’m doing my part and staying home.
@mari.johnson4 жыл бұрын
Hey it might pay to actually watch the video or even read the description before judging. This was filmed in September 2019. I also agree people shouldn’t be hiking right now, but being quick to judge without accurate information is also very detrimental to our society.

A home remedy for wasp stings is to take a cigarette stub wet the tobacco and use a piece of tape to hold it in place on the sting😏 I’ve never owned a pair of gloves that we’re water proof but a pair of kitchen gloves work fine worn over a thermal layer except for some condensation 😒
