PCTV ComfortVision DKP VWs INVADE Historic Main Street Garden Grove!! June 3, 2022

#pctv #carshow #volkswagen The VW show this last Friday was insane. If you are truly an air cooled freak this was the place to Be Main St., Garden Grove Der Kleiner Panzer club was the sponsor and man did they do a great job! They’ve been around since the mid-60s and along with the DKK club brought some of the finest air cools you’ll ever see gathered in one spot there were a variety of cars was amazing got to see some great friends there even John Winters showed up with his Paradise fire tribute thing! Definitely motivates me to get out in the garage and get my Cal bug back on the street. Again a great show a great time glad I made it out and if you guys don’t mind like and subscribe so we can get to that 1000 review in level to honor Dano, It would be greatly appreciated. The black iron cross 5 spoke is called the Speedwell BRM it’s a really rare wheel some roll fake ones from empi but that place had cars with real ones made out of magnesium 8k$ wheels

But I do have a sweet little red 1960 vintage 90s Cal bug that I might be looking at selling down the line just because I am a big guy and it’s just so tiny to drive a Volkswagen when you’re no longer 165 pounds

www.socalcarculture.com/events.html is a great site to find out about shows plus you know join some of the VW clubs I miss a lot of shows myself I just have to try to get word and just figure it out as I go but try that site and you’ll find all kinds of shows and schedules and again get on the some of the more the group pages and just inquire about shows

You really need to do some study. Those first rims are Porsche turbo twist, the next rims are not cookie cutters they are Fuches (probably replicas), and the green car is most definitely not a 67. The car is more than likely a 68 or 69 that has been backdated to look like an earlier car. Note the trigger pull doorhandles. That red car is a puma not a panther! JFC! Not trying to bust your balls but you are putting out incorrect information. It actually does matter. Thanks for the tour though I was there and it was an awesome event

Agreed. I grew up with bugs but I had a serious brain injury in 2004 and I’m realizing I don’t remember nearly as much as I thought I did. So I will definitely be more cautious and do a lot more research and get myself back up to speed

How do you guys feel about to 1904 engines?

Never ran one. I’m wondering if that’s a 1835 a mild stroked if it’s 90.5 with a stroke on it not sure of the configuration so I don’t know if I would have a feeling either way. What is a solid build, breathes right and doesn’t overheat the jugs should be a good engine in my book.

I only ask because I just purchased a 58 with a bad bearing on a 1904 with less than 500 miles. I’m wanting to rebuild it, but I loved the two guys in this video talking about the engine in that white NotchBack. A lot of valuable information right there.

I would hit a Pierside imports in Huntington Beach California. They can recommend a shop that could probably do the work I’m not sure if a king pin could be lowered but we used to do a cut in turn on the newer trailing arm style

And they have a type 1 engine pancake cooling but it is not a bus engine not a type 4

@@volkstroke Did I say it was a bus engine ? What the hell was I smokin? I’ve always referred to them as type 2/ type 4. Basically the pancake motor. I iwbex several Squareback a couple of fastbacks and we’ve always referred to them as type two pancakes. The bus motor is a whole different critter. I believe 72 is when they went to the 914 style motor. My 74 was an 1800 stock.
