Definitely the best 4-hands viola piece I've heard.

Love it. P.D.Q. Bach performances often have a strong visual component which you miss in an audio-only recording.

Of course, in the sixties there were the small rock bands, and judging from the way the smoke smelled, we could reasonably call it chamber pot music.

I heard PDQ Bach when a kid and never forgot, occasionally find new pieces. My mom taught Suzuki Violin, played from 5 years old and played in orchestras until just a few years ago, Viola.A.

Absolutely brilliant; how clever and original. So under appreciated. This is how we make classical music accessible to the neophyte. Yes, violin for 4 hands! OMG!

The audience should know not to clap in between movements. And the laughing hinders the enjoyment of this beautiful music. This is why I dislike live recordings, and only listen to dead ones.
@StuartSimon3 жыл бұрын
And you obviously DON’T listen to P. D. Q. Bach. Supposedly the last of J. S. Bach’s children, he is actually the brain-child of American composer Peter Schickele. The point of P. D. Q. Bach’s compositions is that they are supposed to be bad. Indeed, all recordings of P. D. Q. Bach’s music are live. Why? Because stage antics, laughter, and applause between movements are always par for the course.

If Bach would come to today in a time machine he would be shocked to hear all this machine-made modern music that mostly doesn't seem to have any soul and He would be so sad to see just a few people of thousand able to play an instrument. But he would be proud of the some they can and he would be glad to see young people have to much fun and joy with the classical style. And he would be faszinated by our music halls today, wouldn't he? I have been to the new "Elphi", the "Elbphilharmonie" in Hamburg/ Germany, the home of Händel, Telemann, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Brahms, Carl Philip Emanuel Bach and some others, mostly organists and composers like the Praetorius dynasty, Lübeck and Scheidemann. Oh, he would love this awesone architecture and sound. And after seeing and hearing this perfection in every way and all over the world he would enjoy having fun with PDQ! He was a teacher so he was used to worse sounds coming out of violas than this! 😉😄😇 Alicia, I like your channel and subscribed! Best wishes for you and good fun always! 🎻💝👏👏👏👏👏
