If you finish using the countsink in reverse for a couple of revs you will get a nice round job
@luca0309 Жыл бұрын
is that only for wood????

If you want a better finish, try counter sinking first, then drilling the hole.
@science_sir6 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your suggestions. I will definitely try. Best regards.
@larrikinaxe34246 жыл бұрын
Science Sir My pleasure. You'll get a more uniform finish that is perfectly round and particularly polished in hardwoods. Counter sinking after drilling (Particularly in soft timber) will often cause the countersink to chop, or shudder which causes a rough oval-shaped finish. Not so important for some jobs, but a perfect finish for external applications with stainless hardware ☺

LOL! Ur an idiot Larrikin! Makes no diff!
@mijorchard62064 жыл бұрын
@@TheTimeDetective42 Actually, Larrikin is right. In soft timber with coarse grain, the countersink will tend to wander where the grain wants to push it. Countersinking then drilling is the best way to ensure everything is concentric
@6pekXX3 жыл бұрын
@@mijorchard6206 the only difference is that this wood is not soft at all!!! He drill the hole in reverse as well! Wtf about that?!

Could you just use a large drill bit to do the same thing? One matching head of screw?
@laumar20053 жыл бұрын
you could use a metal drill for that

I think the dislikes came from your idea that you drill a hole for a screw on wood instead of just directly screw on it. For metals yes but for wood no need.
@aar36822 жыл бұрын
wood can crack. pre drill is advisible.
@TheTimeDetective424 жыл бұрын
It looks exactly the same as driling with a bigger drill bit.
