You need a ball to play bounce clap. A tennis ball works best and is used in the demonstration shown. Have students form 2 medium sized circles. Give a ball to one student in each circle.
The object of the game for the student with the ball is to trick their classmates into clapping, whereas the students without the ball are trying to clap only when the ball is bounced. Students in the circle clap only when the ball is bounced. If they clap when the ball is not bounced they should move to the other circle. Challenge students to see how long they can stay in one circle. A allow several different students a chance with the ball
Modifications to this game can have one student clap and the others stomp one foot on the floor when they hear a clap.
This game can also be used as a way for students to line up. If you clap without a bounce you lineup.
