Frankly, its a sad reality that all our old traditions which are gifted to Kerala will be slowly eradicated. Its a shame that Indians do not value their heritage culture and structures. At such times, salute to this man and his family who decided to own such a house and rebuilt and modify and maintain the house to a new look without damaging the old structures. Ideally Govt. should come up with a trust where all the people contribute and such old structures and heritage houses are repurchased giving the market value to the owners and then refurnished and kept and maintained, so that our future generation appreciates and respects the value of our rich traditions and culture. If properly utilised these houses can be used as hotels and rest rooms for guests and tourists and thereby income raised to maintain the same. Had this been in any foreign country or some countries own their heritage structures with pride to show the world.
