Reminds me of a great pie crust recipe like our Amish neighbor made: silky and smooth. We shared our cherry tree with her family and she sent up a cherry pie in exchange. Wow was it melt -in-the-mouth smooth. You'll get it the way you prefer with a little tweaking. Those tarts look pretty. Have a sweet day. D.

Hello dear! I am a pastry chef- refrigerate your pie crust for about 15- 20 minutes before placing it in the oven. You want your dough as cold as possible when it hits the heat. This will also help prevent the melting. Instead, the moisture in the lard will "burst" upon meeting with the heat, puffing your crust dough.

Do you ever regret getting tattoo's? No judgement, but mostly because I am Christian too and sometimes I wonder whether it is a good thing or a bad thing. Curious as to what your opinion is on this.

Obviously I can’t speaks for Kaetlyn, but I’m Christian too and I enjoy having tattoos, so I can speak a little to that point of view. I know a lot of people don’t agree, but my philosophy is this: “If you’re body is a temple, why not decorate the walls.” Often times tattoos are used simply as a physical storytelling of important life events or important people in your life. As long as the tattoo is tasteful or of importance to the person in some way, I can’t imagine why it would be viewed negatively. Hope that gives some insight on one of the pro-tattoo and Christian views☺️ I’d love to know others opinions on the matter though!

@@keller232323 Yes exactly. First of all, that is a lovely and respectful comment you shared. Love that we can have a normal conversation about this. I forgot to mention in my previous comment that I have had a tattoo myself for the past four years and I absolutely love it. I completely agree with you and I think that this opinion should be (not per se shared, but) respected more. As I have encountered multiple situations where I have been called a sinner or non-christian because of a tattoo. I feel like that should be addressed within the Christian community because it may hurt and damage people.

@@romelyhannah I completely agree! I’ve heard similar negative comments made about tattoos from other Christians and I don’t understand it at all. I completely respect that a person may not want tattoos on themselves, but I don’t think they should judge or shame others for having them. Hopefully (with more open conversations) one day it will be less taboo to have tattoos as a Christian so no one is made to feel they are being a bad Christian simply because they decided to express themselves on their own skin😊

My mom and grandma both baked and cooked with lard. Lard makes flaker and better tasting crusts. So don't give up. Your pie looked so lovely! Excellent video, and "God be the Glory" indeed!

I agree butter is the best! My husband loves when I make pie with a butter crumble topping (I use store-bought gluten free crust for the bottom...I am nervous about making my own gluten free pie crust for some reason...maybe I will get brave and try this recipe.)
