In order to make it easier to build the perimeter floor we want to put water sources between the bedrock blocks. Since the area is quite large a machine seems like a good option to do that.

Ilmango's talked about this before, but it was Mumbo Jumbo's clickbait "GRIEFING MACHINE" video that got it nerfed (and classy Mojang, they tried to patch it out but forgot about one-tick pushing waterlogged blocks, so it wasn't intended to only be a nerf). Maybe if people stopped clickbaiting, the world would be a better place.

They do. Check frosted ice highway machines that people in Bedrock edition have made. They are much more simple, since they are using dispensers. In fact, someone made a machine that builds an ice bridge diagonally!

i would have just removed the few lava spots by hand (using a full inventory of empty buckets) and then resort to some more carpet bombing. either that stone is completely encased in bedrock or its gone after that.

In the streams he mentioned multiple times that he is very unproductive when it comes to creating a machine while streaming. He knows because he already tried once, and splitting attention between the contraption and the stream events simply decreases his productivity too much. Also, stream chat can be the most unhelpful entity ever in such cases, presenting the same (wrong) idea again and again.

Wouldn't it have been much easier to just run the world eater (without the sweepers) a couple of times more? The tnt would have blown up every block, that you are now covering up with water. Only the lava lakes would remain an issue, but they are really easy to remove. (Especially since they are easily spotted at night)

While I do like this idea the lower the lowest block in your farm is the better your rates will be so he'd rather make it as low as possible.

@@zebedeesummers4413 Sure, but I think you are missing my point. The tnt would blow up every single block, that is not covered by bedrock. These blocks couldn't be reached by water anyways and could only be removed by bedrock removal. Not that there would be many of those anyway, and the few of those likely offer no place for spawning anyways. This would lead to practically nothing but bedrock in the bottom 5 layers, and then you could still place the floor on top of it, just like they plan to do now.

Couldn't you have simply used the bedrock/previous water blocks to generate new water blocks on top of? I'm not sure I understand the need to do the double push down. One could have simply done a generate>freeze>push forward>freeze>push down>generate>repeat. I hope I'm explaining what I mean well enough.

Be careful with those frost walker boots to place down the blocks on top; you may end up with unmelted frost walker ice under the covering layer, and then it won't flow down into holes below and you could still get spawning in there.
