Absolutely “Best” Instructional video I’ve seen, any song. And, I’ve used a lot of instructional videos. Just a Great Job.

Great lesson, this is the one eagles song I can sing and now hopefully play. I bought this album on eight track back in 1972 been loving them ever since.

Nice job. Your formatting with the split screens is great. Being able to see what both right and left hands are doing, along with either chord progressions or chord diagrams, is so much easier to understand quickly. Very nice.

Perfect. The best explanation of this song. As Billy said below, yours is the best lesson on KZbin and I watched more than I can count and have been playing and continuously learning since 1964! So much to learn, so little time. Thank you

Fantastic lesson, very clear and precise & most importantly to my ear the correct cords. Top marks!
@BTritone4 жыл бұрын
Nice! added those other chords now, with the F# ,A 9 and B .Realized that E going to the F# is how I play Melissa by the the Allmans. Nice open airy sound much better then basic chords that are usually shown for this tune.Also in the correct key Bravo!

What you’re playing is an Amin/maj9 sounds more complicated than it is. But you’ve got the min 3 with the C, the maj 7 with theG#, the 9 with the open B, and the fifth with the open E.

@@skynebula11 No Sky... John means that Ryan rushed the tempo quite a bit. Its not a major problem, but does sound a bit off...that's all. Otherwise a great lesson.

You're better than my book, for sure. (First 50 Songs You Should Play On Acoustic Guitar by Hal Leonard) The damn thing only has the strum pattern for the intro! It has this version of the F#m11 chord that frets the 6th, 4th and 3rd strings on the 2nd fret, muting the 5th, which sounds the same but is incredibly awkward to play. Also, it presents the substitutions that you mentioned without presenting the original chords themselves to let you know that it is a substitution.
@scottbecker34854 жыл бұрын
David Sandrock Bingo. Noticed the same added benefit of this video over the F#m11 played down in fret 2, as well as those alternate, wonderfully jangly A9 and B4 alternatives. Though I think the B4 needs to tonally go down rather than up to match the original, so maybe a Bsus bar chord on the 2nd fret?

Actually the song was played in D capoed in the second fret atleast thats how glen frey played it...D,G,A and Emin which might be easier chords for some beginners.
@GaryCost4 жыл бұрын
You might want to go to KZbin and watch what Glenn is playing. He plays it EXACTLY like this!

Might want to think about adding a click track so your tempo and strumming pattern aren't all over the place.
