Thank you Lisa for your encouraging and uplifting message. Thank you for your prayer. As you were teaching this verse came to mind, Hebrews 4:10 " for he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His". It's so difficult for us to release control. We have this, I would even call it, obsession to have to have everything figured out in our minds. And that's the restless and wrestling place. I think "rest" is to cease from striving. That's what Psalm 46:10 says in the NASB 1995 "Cease striving, and know that I am God". To me this is so liberating. Being able to leave in the hands of God, not our problem but ourselves. To give up and say: "I surrender Lord, I cannot cope with this anymore, it's beyond me. I give you my mind. I don't care what you do with it. It's yours. I'm pretty sure You will do a much better job than what I've done so far with it". Then supernaturally the rest of God comes. Suddenly you feel free, joyful and in complete peace. To surrender our inner control tower -our mind- is absolutely freeing, because now is in the hands of the Prince of Peace. He is able to direct it, and take care of it unlike anyone else, including ourselves. Surrendering our minds is like conquering the last bastion in the promised land, which, at the time, was Jerusalem. Once the last bastion in our lives is finally conquered by God, and falls under God's rulership, there is nothing that can disturb our peace.

I'm disappointed in this Bible study. I love Pastor Lisa's Bible study, this one was more of a book promotion for her brother. The message with the scriptures is focused, but to refer to what Joel says as more important as a reference than what the scriptures say, I find misleading. Put more emphasis on getting the message from scriptures and not from a féelings book. I love Pastor Lisa, there is a time and season for promotion of his book and Bible study is not the time. With Brotherly Love
