I can’t wait to hear the results of the tonic, it sounds very interesting and it certainly sounds like something my sister would be interested in trying too. The location for your cream tea is gorgeous. I had added Wintercombe to my wish list when you first mentioned it in a previous video, and I’m anxious to get a copy now and read it soon. My husband laughed when I took home a poinsettia reduced to free after Christmas. I'm happy to say it is alive and well even after it's "season". I've just discovered your channel, and I'm I feeling blessed! I feel such a like-mindedness with you both and the book club community. I'm always looking for comfort books to read, and British classics or historical fiction are my long-time favorites. I very much enjoyed this bookish lifestyle vlog. So cozy and warm. You are both so lovely. Like Donna, I'm 60 years of age, and it's lovely to see a warm mother-daughter relationship centered around books and cozy living. I also love seeing the snowdrops. In my part of northeastern Pennsylvania in the US, we won't see them until perhaps late March, but more likely some time in April. Our winters are very long and quite cold. So thank you for taking us on your outing! I'm thrilled to have found you!

Thank you for your book recommendation’Wintercombe’ as I’m fascinated by the Civil War and historical novels. I have visited Great Chalfield Manor and Norton St Philip many times as I lived just outside Bath where also the battle of Lansdown took place. Not only is the house really interesting but the gardens in the Spring and Summer are absolutely stunning! Many British historical Dramas are filmed here so well worth a visit also there is a very old pub in Norton St Philip which is well worth a visit too. Congratulations on your award too.

I always really look forward to your videos and enjoy them a great deal. Many thanks for taking the time and trouble to make them. As a Winter “cure all” I make garlic fermented in honey. Using raw honey, place peeled cloves of garlic and the honey into a jam jar. Don’t seal the lid too tightly, and place on a tray or plate, once it starts to ferment it can bubble over. When colds and flu strike taking the garlic in the honey acts as an antiviral, and antibiotic. I’m sure there are recipes on the internet which would explain it more fully.

Congratulations! 💐(I never made a tonic like this in my life. We often make herbal teas from herbs/spices and dried berries/fruits we foraged during summer/autumn. A favourite is rosehip tea and tea made from dried black currant leaves. I think it very wise indeed to have the right balance between garlic tonics and cream tea in this life😉...we have a saying in my language that too much or too little of something is never a good thing...)
