I think they aren't too lucky. You quickly get used to nice landscape and mountains. On houses and doors I saw papers saying "Hallstatt is no museum. We live here. Please be calm" in few languages. So, they rather suffer from tourism and constant noises, rather than have time to admire the nature. Everything but one place closes about 6pm. It can be felt they have enough due to people traffic. Another thing is they have really no place to expand - no room for new houses, no place for serious shopping, just four, five vertical arrangements for homes one above another, and very narrow streets. At least those next to the lake. Place is beautiful, indeed. Expansive too. But it is a must-see at least once! :)

Floods leave trauma. We from Rio Grande do Sul here in Brazil, when we look at this image the first thing that comes to mind is the water up to the roofs of the houses. But this place is beautiful, there's no doubt about it.

March 30, 2023 -- I was standing on this little bridge with my husband and our toddler looking out at this view. This is in Lahn, in Hallstatt Austria. The house on the left is an accommodation called Loft am See. The structure across is the Schloss Grub castle near Obertraun. I hope everyone will have an opportunity to visit this town and see this lovely view. It is like a dream that you never want to end
