"Interdimensional imp who stans Batman" Is really everything you need to know about Bat-Mite. He shows up from the 5th dimension, uses a bunch of ridiculous superpowers that are normal where he's from, sometimes helps Batman, most times just annoys him

i love the sequence of peacemaker jumping between balconies. you're so used to seeing superheroes jump from absurd distances and fall into poses that seeing peacemaker jump from balcony to balcony and land like shit feels extra realistic. in a show full of fantasy, they know how and the amount to implement reallity details.

Peacemaker trained his body to peak human condition, so he has peak human strength, speed, agility, healing, etc, that’s why he can do unrealistic shit other normal humans can’t do. In comic books a lot of normal humans train their body to peak human to be able to do crazy feats (Bruce Wayne, Frank Castle, Matt Murdock, Wilson Fisk, Oliver Queen, Sam Wilson, etc)

Peacemaker is an awesome show, glad you guys are reacting to it. It all depends on the characters and the story being told with them that makes it better but even then everything is made for different types of fans within both DC and Marvel, not everything is made for everyone....like ever lol. There are also different types of dark, humor and drama and sometimes they get all of that in a couple of shows and movies.

1:00 No, DC does NOT need to lean into being dark and gritty. What they need to do is stay true to the source material, which is different for every character. Batman is a grim vigilante who frightens his enemies, so that tone works for him, but it does not work for Superman, who is a beacon of hope who inpires everyone around him. That was why the "Snyder-verse" failed, because he made every film look and feel the same. I dread to think what his take on Shazam would have been like...

MCU phase 4 has been going back and forth with comedy and serious films.Anyway most of phase 4 has not been mostly comedy. Doctor strange 2,eternals,spiderman home coming,black widow etc.. are serious films with some humor. Now some have more humor then others.Most of the phase 4 shows are serious.(i think all of them) It's the dceu currently that has been most comedy.Heck the first dceu show peacemaker is action comedy. Phase 4 has been more darker and more serious then the current dceu. Now she-hulk will a be comedy and black panther 2,will not be one for example.

There are the CW/DC (Arrowverse) shows, most of them are now cancelled or ended and "The Flash" just launched its last season (number 9). There is also "Superman and Lois" on the CW, but it has its own continuity (despite starting as a sorta spin-off to "Supergirl" with the same actors playing the two main characters). On HBO Max there were "Titans" and "Doom Patrol", recently cancelled after 4 seasons each. They were previously on DC Universe, WB's attempt at a comic book-centric streaming service, where they also aired "Swamp Thing" for one season (it was cancelled before even airing). Anyway, "Peacemaker" is the first show directly connected to the films (or at least one film).

Comic book movies/shows are so often kind of ashamed of their source material, and they gotta do all this editing about what's good enough to keep and what's too silly and what needs to be made more realistic. So just casually confirming that Bat-Mite, one of the weirdest "the writers are really out of ideas" joke characters, is cannon in this show seems like a statement and a flex.

There's a few DC shows that share a universe together (crossover episodes for each show) but separate from Peacemaker. "Arrow", "The Flash", "Supergirl" and another one that forms from all 3 shows from some of their side characters called "DC's Legends of Tomorrow". Arrow and the Flash are by far the better shows of the "Arrowverse". Definitely worth the watch and make sure you watch the episodes from all the shows because the crossover episodes can spoil event from the other shows if you're not careful.

Watchmen is another great DC show, but you'd probably want to at least watch the movie (extended cut is the best version), if not read the graphic novel. Doom Patrol & Harley Quinn are also really good.

Not every DC character is suited to be dark and gritty. It's my issue with most marvel movies, they all feel the same. Superman and Batman are completely different characters tonally. I don't think being gritty just be different from marvel is a good idea.

Dc focusing on the dark and gritty isn't the best of ideas. The very face of DC is superman for crying out loud. The cheerful dude that has his trunks on the outside. DC is the saturday morning cartoon. The grittiness can work for a bit but the universe is inherently silly comic bs. And ignoring that part is ignoring what readers have enjoyed about these stories for almost a century.

The early seasons of arrow yes but the later seasons of arrow are not that good and are a massive dip in quality..while peace maker is greatest all threw out...I would say out of arrows 8 season run arrow seasons 1,2 and 5 are great 3 and 4 are mid had some good ideas and premises but some of the executions wasn't that good season 6 was pretty bad and didn't live up to the cliff hanger that season 5 had season 7 outside of the prison arc was pretty bad and season 8 is mixed...so only 3 out of 8 seasons of that show is actually good so that's alot of mid to bad seasons you'll after sit threw

This is the first show that I can honestly say I want to see the entire opening credits each episode. I never get tired of it. John Cena also amazed me by just how much he has grown in his acting skills. Peacemaker is not someone I particular fell in love with watching The Suicide Squad movie and I was pretty neutral about news of a Peacemaker series. But, I can honestly say I loved this show. I recommend you guys watch the Harley Quinn series and also start watching the DCAU animated movies. I do not think you guys ever reacted to Zack Snyder's Justice League, have you? They are all so good & fun. DC movies are separate from Marvel due to its darkness and that is, in my opinion, what Zack Snyder was trying and do and did do for WB, but the big problem is WB/DC wanted to beat the MCU and also started chasing after getting great critic reviews. They did not seem to really care as much about fans nearly as much as they seemed to want critics to love their movies first and foremost and that is what caused WB to create their own problems and cause their own downfall, including throwing Zack Snyder and David Ayer under the bus & changing their movies as a result, IMO.

The issue with the DCEU isn’t because they wanna tell “dark” stories, it’s that they decided to put a “dark” filter over everything even when it didn’t fit the tone of certain stories having unique styles. Also Peacemaker is “dark” only in terms of its violent rating but it’s more of a dark comedy.
