Angel_Stella Angel, religious rhetoric might well be the same across the board towards homosexuals - but most non Muslims have gotten past that and carry on regardless - ignoring the easily twisted messages of the Bible etc. It's a strong belief throughout Islam that homosexuality is abhorrent. "You can criticise religion, however you are criticising political extremism, cultural values etc" - Well yeah, in the case of Islam, it's one in the same. Much the same as Christianity and the crusades (don't forget how long ago that was though). Violence and murder in the name of religion. It's just the rest of the world moved away from that level or barbarism a long time ago, a part (albeit a small part) of Islam is still very much into that backward behaviour and justifies horrific acts in the name of religion. This period in history is actually known as the Golden age of Islam, and there have been many articles, documentaries and exhibitions dedicated to the subject. The point is rather invalid though, as it has nothing to do with modern society, furthermore, if neo nazis were commiting these kinds of crimes, would anyone be defending Nazism by saying 'look at the advances the Nazis made in industry and science, they built motorways and developed the rocket'? While it may be true that they did make these advances, it doesn't negate the fact that they also had some abhorrant beliefs and practices within their culture and belief system. Also, it's not wrong to say that their religion is to blame when there are numerous passages within Islamic texts which justify their actions.

What this is, is something I learned from the Nationalists during apartheid. You invite one person from the opposition and position him with a pre-selected audience as well as panel. The whole idea is not to hear his opinion, but to create a feeling that whatever he says is not accepted by the majority. Of course it is a farce, but that is how you convince more people of your point. This is active propaganda by whoever arranged the program. I know and have been trained in this.

Absolutely. The programme itself is designed to isolate the main protagonist (Robinson). He is seated below most of the audience, to give them a sense of superiority over him. He has to talk up to his challengers. He is also not seated with the main guests because that would give him a stamp of approval. The host is clearly biased in the audiences favour too. Im not a fan of EDL but Robinsons point that the islamification of the UK is an irreversible problem, is completely being lost amid the frenzy of hate.
