Actually, that's a common misconception. The peacock's giant feathers just make them more noticeable to predators. Their real purpose is to attract females.

Impress females- better chance of successful mating Assert dominance- larger span of feathers against other males Intimidation- since they can't fly very well they use it to scare any possible creature they find dangerous. No wonder this is The National Bird of India ❣️ so elegant and beautiful 😍... I'm happie to say that these are too common in my backyard and sometimes even wander around our home unfortunately they're wild so doesn't like our presence and as soon as they spot any of us, they run away... Although we are not harming them... Anyways the fact that they visit our garden is the best thing...
