Another excellent video. Are cookies to tell you the direction to the exit or direction to go when there is a confluence of other passages?

The cookies are personal markers to idicate a navigational decision the divers have made, the arrows are used to show the direction of exit, are often located on the 'main line' at the position of side passages.

The footage is extremely clear! What camera are you using? Are you considering having each diver or one diver carry a video light?

I'm using a gopro hero 8 black. A couple of us are carrying some cheaper video lights some of those rooms are just big enough that unless you have thousands of dollars of lights, the just get washed out. Thanks for watching!

@@DrivenDivers that’s pretty awesome video for not being a standard camera as opposed to an action-cam. We use the GoPro 7 & 8 Black. Lighting has always been tricky in the caves, either too much or too little without spending a fortune. I think our best video was one we did at Ginnie, people seemed to like the way that one turned out. You said in a reply to me the other day that this is new to you. I’m no pro but damn man, you are off to a great start on the right foot. There just isn’t a lot of “recent” cave dive videos that have great quality as well as great content. Keep it up! For what it’s worth, the OrcaTorch D-530V is a great option at a good price. That’s what I use on my camera rig (x2) The other divers carry the Amazon light that claims 18000 lumens. The trick was to keep those the farthest from the camera.

@@FoundInTheRiverAndCaves Thanks for the kind words and encouragement! I'm trying to get to 100 subs so I can customize the channel URL soon :) We have those same amazon lights. They work decently well for what they are, If you get 3 people carrying one it helps. I don't know if you've checked out the Steve Bogaerts channel but they are all super well done kzbin.info

Josh here! When dealing with light a great thing to do is find several lights with the same temperature (in kelvin) and and then set the white balance of the image to that in post (or in camera). This works well in cave because the only light is what you provide. I’m happy to show an example if you msg me on fb.

@@IntoTheOverhead that’s a great point Josh! I never thought of that. I like the temperature of the OrcaTorch but I think I could get better results using your method.
