I wish every company did product videos like Peak Design. They are incredibly informative and helpful in explaining all of the features. But also, they do an incredible job selling the gear and making the benefits obvious.

While it's true you can't push the anchor through a Fuji X-T3 eyelet, you can pull it through with a piece of dental floss or similar wire of some kind. No need for split rings. More elegant solution.

The old Leash allowed for a single mount point, making it into a proper sling strap. If you could reintroduce that feature in a revision or fully dedicate that single mount point concept into a new Leash sized strap that would be my instant go-to option. Call it the Slick, since Sling and Slide are already taken.

I would love it if you could design one that permits lens-pointing-down sling style carry, but gets round the main objection I have with arca swiss plates which is that you can’t rest the camera flat on a flat surface very well. You also need a tiny bit of extra hardware on the tripod but that is less of a concern.

Got one today, spent the entirety of my one hour bus ride home messing about with the anchors and trying to work out how sling carry works, and getting quite frustrated when I couldn't lift the camera to my face comfortably. Just as I was about to get off I pictured this video in my mind and realised he had his camera to the right... duh. Ace bit of kit, loving it as much as I imagined I would. Will probably get another for my second camera! Just wish I could afford a Capture too...

Great video, awesome camera strap. The big question is: how the hell do you open those splitter rings....and why isn’t there a small tool included in the package to help you do that...?!
@mmaged22874 жыл бұрын
They are impossible and bend very easily. Unfortunately, I bent it and now fear that the loop will come out of the split ring if its installed.
@enkaphalin11114 жыл бұрын
if you could, in a pinch, use the head of a ballpoint pen - dont expect to use it after opening the splitter ring however. The other solution is to get those shimmy slips of metal used to open electronics. Just anything that is strong and thin enough to slit the gap of the rings

I haven’t used the Leash but have used pretty much every other PD option. At the moment I hate the current Slide. The excess strap forms large loops down the camera attachment end because the two strap layers don’t lay flat and no means are provided to hold them flat. Those loops hook over everything! 😠

Question for Peak Design - I am currently using a capture clip attached to my Everyday Sling 10l - with the anchor for this strap attached to the bottom of this camera for sling carry, will it still fit into the capture clip, or do I need to remove it every time I'm switching carrying modes?
@derpenstocks2 жыл бұрын
Still fits in the capture clip - if you attach the eyelit to the back of the clip instead of the front (it would probably work on the front, too, but I imagine you'd have to move it out of the way all the time)

Base plate needs to go front to back, not side to side on the fujifilm x100v otherwise changing the battery becomes impossible as the base plate obstructs the battery door.

Your split rings are the worst. I was working a gig and almost lost my camera because the split ring decided to open up. I love your straps though and highly recommend them! Just use a regular ring to connect anchors to camera.

I'm a little bit scared of metal buckles, it can likely scratch the camera or display when when it's put into any bag attached without taking special care. Otherwise it's something i'm looking for. Aren't people complaining about this? Maybe display is covered by protective glass which is hard enough, but I'm not going to try it.

I like how easy you can grab the camera when wearing it crossbody. But I’m the person who wears crossbody straps always on the right shoulder. Because of that I use the anchor on the grip side of the camera and the one on the plate so the camera hangs close to my left side with the lens facing down. 🙂
