Even for people like me who don't hike or camp, these bags are always very cool to see with all the features being shown off. I look forward to seeing a few of these new features and design choices inevitably show up in the Everyday line.

I used the 25L bag that you sent over to me (Fstoppers) this weekend for my shoot in Paris. I loved it. I got many commentaries on the sleek luxurious design and I loved the side mesh pockets. They stretch so I could put a lot in them but have a very tight closing so everything felt secure. I love how it works seamlessly with the cubes I have from my travel backpack. Another great design!

Okay first of all, this guy's a treasure. I don't care what you're paying him - it's not enough. I cannot remember the last time I watched a full 15 minute video of 'anything' without stopping the feed. Until now. I liked the product before I watched this video but now I'm definitely going to buy the product. I'll tell you something else, if I ever start a business, I'm coming for this guy!

Going to wait for the V2 iteration of this one... 2.5 lbs for the 25L is on the heavy side of outdoor packs, and that free-hanging extra cordage just whipping around is an absolute no-go for any kind of technical scrambling or approaches where a bad snag can mean losing your balance.

Wouldn’t that be a nice option . I really hope you can make this happen. Thanks in advance JC.

Seems like a lot of prior load-out examples have been heavy on making this an expensive piece of luggage for clothes and more modest sized gear. At least this one covers more of the gear load options. I'd like to see more gear load options. For example, what will handle a Canon R5 MkII, 200-800 Zoom for wildlife outings (mounted or not), 10-20 f4 for landscapes, 70-200 f2.8 for a day pack use? Sure, we can always get the biggest bag, but maybe my back would like something capable but minimalist. I can always take a checked bag for clothes.

Folks at Peak Design please, please, please, stop sending out your products for reviews by 'influencers' who obviously haven't done any research on the product, are not real outdoor photographers, pro or enthusiasts, and clearly are looking at likes for their videos and not sharing what could be a good, or bad, product for their viewers. These outdoor backpacks and at least the 7 litre sling, look interesting to me as an enthusiast bird and travel photographer. In fact I am currently on a 7 week trip in Sicily, I think based on your channels reviews and the one by Pack Hacker, that the 25l may have been a better choice as a pack for this trip than the one I did bring. But, and this is the point of my concern with the current pile of trash on reviews currently out there, I have not seen one, and I have looked, that throws in an older gear package like an old 80d with a 400 f5.6 or 70-300 L or a 5d3 and 70-200 f2.8, etc, etc.. and goes out for a walk on a trail, hops on a plane and speaks to how the pack fit in the overhead..... people sitting at a kitchen table with tags flopping around, pretending they have been using the bags is nonsense. OK, you get the picture. Example. I just saw the start of a video of a guy who didn't even realize that he was holding the stabilizer strap for the sling and thought it was a tie down strap. WTH!! So Peak Design in the future I would be happy to recommend a few good, well respected folks who have decent following on social media that likely meet your marketing requirements. And no this is not a ploy to be a reviewer. I want good reviews on solid products I may be interested in. As someone who worked in protected areas management (now retired) I want to know and trust someone's opinion on products. Your current stable of reviewers with a few exceptions leave me wondering if the poor selection in reviewers is meant to get positive reviews from people who don't know what they are talking about or how to really use the gear.

Can you daisy-chain smedium and extra-small camera cubes vertically via c-clips in a 45l bag to facilitate "flap tucking" in both of them? From a sizing standpoint it seems doable... Slightly asymmetrical though.

The other comments covered this pretty well but the confusion may be due to the fact that the Medium Camera Cube *does not* fit, but the Medium Original Packing Cube *does* fit. It can get a bit confusing with all the different accessories and we're constantly trying to dial in the language we use for it.

That’s so wild to sold the rain cover separately. Shimoda do as good with their bags but better price and don’t sell the brand name instead of the product….
@DaveStern2
@DaveStern2 Ай бұрын
it's such a give and take with any rain cover. many people won't need them and so if they include them with every pack, they have to include that in the cost (because it's not free to make them), and then they will produce many, many rain covers that are not needed (which is kind of a waste of material). yet for those who do want them, they always want them included. yet if they made them a no-cost add-on for anyone who wants, everyone would ask for one since there's no economic incentive not to. but then when they do charge, everyone who buys feels taken advantage of. Maybe they just need to sell rain covers at cost so it's not expensive to get one if needed (yes that brings down margin of their business, but not by a lot).
@AcrodeinoS

@@DaveStern2 You are right for a good part of your answer. I had not seen the rain cover thing from this angle. Anybody who hikes a lot knows how awful it is to maintain a water bladder. If I want photo carry, Shimoda does it better and has more comfortable straps. If I want an outdoor backpack there's Hyperlite or Zpacks which are better options. This bag is more of an urban travel bag, no different than their PD 45L. Come on guys, you've had a headstart and other brands like Nomatic are doing it better.
@AlphaProductions-s7u
@AlphaProductions-s7u Ай бұрын
the packs are not suitable for quick access. to take out or to put back a camera or changing lens you have to take the backpack off to the ground and open it completely. imagine doing that in wet conditions like rain forest or in the mud. plus the hydartion hose routing from the bottom to top is a weak point. and hydration alwas have larger volume with water. in the 25 liter demonstration on 11:50-11:51 minute you see when he closes the rear section of the backpack how it doesnt close smoothly and there is a big gap. the next frame is when the backpack is already close. and this is without bladder. with bladder i dont see how you close the backpack without putting o big pressure on the camera cube and all the gear exposed with direct contact to the bladder.

if you have the hip belt on, you can take the shoulder straps off and spin it around from back to front. It isn't as nice as the quick access pockets on a lowepro or shimoda, but it's about the same as an FStop Tilopa (minus the top and back pockets, but plus more useable side pockets and a different laptop/hydration sleeve placement). I think I'd go for the shimoda over this - though I think one thing PD has over them is a larger distribution network/physical store presence. It's hard to justify the eyewatering prices of camera backpacks without trying them on.
