the mesh ones can stretch more as needed (vs these water resistant ones, the mesh is stretchy and breathable). also they'd be good for things other than clothing based on the design.

The side attachment points are also designed to connect to the outside attachment points on the outdoor bags using connector straps and similar

Is this one better than the Matador gear cube?

Try treadlite gear in U.K. , cottage store making DCF packing cubes as well as loads of other items. Loverly made items to hold your gear and clothing

Are they waterproof.?

Watch Peak Design's videos, these cubes are more meant for gear, not clothes.

Why wouldn't I just use the PD compressible packing cubes? I could only see this being used for completely random crap I plan on bringing and want them bundled together instead of strewen around my luggage.

That's literally what they are designed for. No idea why they used clothes

Not to mention these are lighter, and water proof (well, the non mesh ones) so depending on what you’re doing…

Sizing is weird, I think it should be medium, small and X-small as the one that is called small is about the same size of the PD shoe pouch. Also they come in two fabric options terra shell and mesh.
@BrentLooyenga2 ай бұрын
The sizing is based off of the other cubes they also have. They already decided what “small” was.

Looks like the Heimplanet packing cubes with more options and more money. The Heimplanet looks like a bargain now😂

I like their original packaging cubes design better. Easy to use pull tabs to rip open to get into content

Yeah these are just for different things than those OG cubes. Waterproof (versus not) and extra light (the reason you’re missing all the extra zippers and so forth). Even the other mesh is great if you have wet clothes that need to dry. Just different purpose than the OG cubes.

So no compression then? Their original ones have compression, so I am surprised they didn't add this too.

Necessarily adds a zipper all around the cube, which adds a lot of weight (for an ultralight design). The original ones are still available ; I think they are aiming at new use cases with these new cubes (hikers looking to lighten their load, hosting gear more than clothes...), rather than replace the "old" ones.

These are not meant to replace the „original ones“, which are for clothing and one od the best packing cubes around. These are meant for knick knacks, the ones shown here for things you may want to carry in or outside your backpack. Basically there there to hold all the small items rolling around your bag, or, as in my case the camper. The things, you would normally put into an Ikea box, which isn’t flexible nor is it expandavble. You can even use them as a ouch with the PK leash. The mesh packing cubes are expandable, but only intended for inside your bag. I use them in my camper van to tidy up my cupboards, and where the boxes aren‘t ideal or don‘t fit.

Why in the world you would put freakin socks in a another bag inside your bag/backpack. What the hell. XD

that footage from overhead is really overexposed, it's hard to see the bags well. also, I think the smaller cubes are really better suited for things other than clothes. if you're needing to pack clothes, you're probably better off just using the regular packing cubes that they've sold before these.
