In this video my friend Rich and I head up to Bleaklow from Bamford via Alport Dale. We wild camped at Bleaklow Stones and witnessed an amazing sunset before watching the Perseids Meteor Shower.

This is what the Peak District is all about. Unforgettable views, cool morning mists, blustery winds, a cosy tent. I wish my legs would let me do this. Chris

+RG5355 Thanks for watching Chris. There really is s merging special about being out in the hills when most other people have gone home or aren't about. There are a few less strenuous options in the Peaks to preserve your legs if you wanted to get the same feel. ATB Dean

Even though I live on the edge of Derbyshire I never really explored the Peak District until this year. Because of your time and effort Dean I now know most of the places you have referred to in your videos. I now go up into the Peak District almost every week. Thanks for the inspiration. By the way another amazing video. Keep em coming.

The heather is gorgeous this time of year, and your shots of the Bleaklow stones make the landscape look almost alien. I love a "bleak" landscape, there's something very soothing and minimalist about it. Very nice video, Dean.

+Laura Watkins I love this time of year up on the moors, the purple heather is stunning. It does like an alien landscape up there, it's amazing how the forces of nature can erode the rocks into those shapes. Thanks for watching Laura

Hi Dean, really glad to see you posting a new video. There is no comparison between your channel and other channels regarding editing, music, presentation, etc.... Really missed your Peak District videos. I also would like to give a shout out to another high quality channel, Homemade Wanderlust, an acquaintance from my hometown area, who is hiking the PCT. Hope to see a new video soon, ATB....Neill

awesome video. me and my dad spent an amazing night up near the b29 bomber wreckage. we parked near an industrial unit in old Glossop and walked up the doctors gate and pennine way to higher shelf stones. the next day we decended using White Clough which was quite hairy (but great fun!) and the kendal mint cake got melted :D. But for a first wild camp it was amazing and so peaceful. we left the area exactly as we found it and had breakfast in Glossop. We're planning another camp tomorrow also👍

Awesome video Dean mate, I really enjoyed it 😎 some really great footage and pretty decent weather too apart from the wind lol the night time lapse of the camp and the sky were amazing and so were the sunset and sunrise, top notch indeed 😎👊🏻 I still need to get myself up bleaklow at some point, it's on my ever growing list of places 😀 Thanks for sharing, Atb Mark

+Mark Taylor outdoors Thanks for watching Mark, really enjoyed this overnighter. I was glad of the wind to keep the midges away but it was a bit to strong for the videos. I do need a heavier tripod though as the wind blew it around a bit during the sunset time lapse so it's not perfectly stable :-) You should definitely head for Bleaklow Stones, I love the solitude up there. Hi Dean for a minute thought Graham was with you! Stunning sunset but shame about the clouds. Really liking the remote wildness and views. Can get some solitude up there too which is a double plus so no one can see me clinging on to blades of grass trying to escape the groughs! . Was watching your older vid from maybe 3 years ago up Grinah Stones & Bleaklow Stones.. now I have to get up there again very soon. Hope it dries out a bit though! Think I could resist a steak but not many could resist an ice cream.. ATB Stephen.

Bleaklow stones / grinah stones is my favourite place to camp in the peaks . And i also like it for the same reasons you do . Dean i've converted my walking pole into a camera stand so that i dont need to carry a bulky tripod . So my pole do'es both jobs lol.just stick it in the ground put camera on top ta dah camera stand lol. its also nice to see you back out again in the peaks . Normally your globe trekking atb kev

+kinder kev it's stunning up there isn't it, I love getting away from crowds... I'm selfish, like the hills to myself haha. My Canon 7D DSLR would probably snap my carbon poles, it weighs a ton :-). I'm out out in the Peaks at the moment so will have more videos soon, doing a 3 day trek along the Derwent Valley Heritage Way. ATB and thanks for watching Kev.
