In this video my friend Ray and I head out for a short walk on the eastern moors of the Derbyshire Peak District. We walk via Birchen and White Edge to big Moor to watch the Stags, then head back to Robin Hood via Curbar, Baslow and Gardoms Edges.

Nice to see a short-and-sweet walk and video. Lovely way, even with the boggy section, to spend an afternoon.

I was inspired by this to go out this afternoon to Big Moor. I saw the deer from afar through binoculars, but you're right - I wouldn't want to get too near at this time of year! Love your videos!

Brilliant Dean - and on your doorstep too, what better. We're lucky to have such awesome countryside. Great to see the stags up there.. and might venture over myself as not been up the gritstone edges for a while. Your awesome remix took me right back to fond memories of hearing The War of the Worlds album for the first time maybe 1978! ATB Stephen.

Great video. Nice to see all the spots I've visited in the past on your videos If memory serves that bog where you joked about Ray disappearing was close to a rescue that happened one christmas day evening. An elderly gent was overdue and was found by a SAR dog handler friend, wet, exhausted and hypothermic and had to be carried off. Another dog handler fell foul of the terrain and won the bog snorkelling championship and his curses could be heard all the way to Cleckhuddersfax....his smell travelled much further 😉 Keep em coming Dean

Great vid as usual mate, Curbar and Baslow are personal favourites too, yesterday we conquered Hen Cloud and The Roaches which was absolutely stunning with the weather, didn't make it to Luds church though this time. Keep it up mate 👍

Looks to be a lovely area as always. I live in Sydney city so we have the Blue Mountains in the west, which I know you have seen. You have also seen Tasmania, which I love and have been three times. Thank you for making these nice little videos (as I have only been to the UK four times, but don't do these walks). So nice to see x

Great vid Dean but not good to mention location of the stags as they are a magnet for poachers and lots have been shot recently. 👍

Thanks for watching, sadly it's a well known location for stags. Whenever you head there at this time of year there are always photographers there.

Great video mate, awesome to see the stags. Looked like a really nice walk, done some of those edges myself but not on that route. Also there’s plenty areas in the Peak District that are boggy all year round, that’s what puts me off wearing my trail shoes more. Thanks for sharing, Atb Mark

Thanks for another inspiring video, and certainly on my visit list for next time we are up. Also, the point about safety when walking in proximity to animals can't be overemphasised; possibly something that is worth a short video in itself (esp. concerning cattle). Anyway keep up the good work!

My god, you forget how long White Edge is. I say it every time I visit. I think that's a route for later in the year for me as I want to visit gardoms and birchen edges. I'd have to get Longshaw Estate in too. Was meant to go a week ago Sunday but, to quote a Cricket term, rain stopped play. And how many times did you say Bamford Edge? Hahaha 🤣🤣🤣

A lovely inspiring film. I haven’t been there recently. Used to use campsite at Robin Hood. Eric Byrne I think it was called. Is it still there ? It’s a beautiful part of the pd and must go again soon. Funny how some areas get so busy and others don’t. Thanks again. Atb Adam.

Dean, Great vid and lovely sites. I felt towards the end of your walk seemed better terrain for a 7 year old and a 70 year old to try this area (especially liked the bridge over the running water) in Autumn when we are having heavy rain fall. The first part of the walk appeared too rocky/boggy so I would have to miss that part out I think. If I parked in the pub car park and headed towards the bridge over the river, which way would I go? We can then walk as far as the terrain seem fit. Thank you

Just remembered, it's been about a year since I first asked- any progress on that album? I see you're making more and more songs recently and would love to be able to hear them in standalone format.. Otherwise, great video.
