Fabulous walk Joe in an area of the country I don’t know very well although I don’t live that far away. My tendency is to always turn north on the m6 as I’m only half a hour drive to the lakes but maybe I need to explore the Peaks a little more. What a stunning walk over two amazing hills. Definitely on my to do list. Thanks Joe.

Two of the most distinctive hills in the Peak District and worth the little trip to do!

Did this yesterday and very lucky with the weather, gorgeous day. When I parked up I realised the enormity of this walk and it was a beautiful thing to see. Immediately it was a climb though easy to see ahead of you where to walk. Although I think Park Hill is the smaller of the two it was for sure the hardest. Fabulous views at the top once over the small scramble. Across to the pinnacle descended down and it wasn't for the faint hearted. Quite slippy so would not recommend doing this when wet. I got down there on my backside. Descending is steep and rough on the knees. Then a brief walk to Chrome Hill and another steep climb. Although this is bigger, looking back towards Park Hill it looks fantastic. A half hour break for well earned rest and lunch. Carried on across and down. I more or less did the route the opposite to you. Glad I did as I would never have got up Park Hill the other way. It was for me anyway, a little scary so was over cautious, once at the bottom, relieved and elated at the same time. This is a gem of a walk, I am not experienced at all and would recommend going with a small group or another person maybe experienced. I did this with a group and glad I did for the encouragement. 4.5hrs it took me with the dog!

Amazing to hear about your awesome walk and well done in getting up both of them! So happy the weather was good for you! I would second that comment about not doing it in the rain! Also avoid in strong winds too (unlike me!!).

How was it coming down Parkhouse Hill from this direction?
@WalkingintheWildwithJoeJackson10 ай бұрын
I would not go down the west ridge, I came up that side and down the west ridge which is much easier. Still steep but Ok
