It takes time and practice try the double comb method i didn't like them in school either we had to use gel instead of foam and I got so frustrated in school we had to do it a certain way but I tried the double comb method and preferred it better but for finals I couldn't do it that way but the way they taught me which was even more uncomfortable and difficult because for me I'm left handed so everything I learned was done backwards 😭😭😭

I was thinking the same thing but I didn’t want to come off rude. But I was taught that you should never use a permanent color the same day as a relaxer. You should only use a semi or Demi color the same day as a relaxer.

You did good, love the colour! Tip for finger waves: You might want to use two combs, place them few inches apart (depending on how wide you want the waves to be)- push one comb forward while you push the second comb backwards simultaneously. Repeat the process until you cover the whole head. This creates better waves than swooping with one comb. I hope it makes sense though- I suck at explaining things (giving directions)

When I was is cosmetology school this was THEE hardest style to conquer. My rhythm came when the hair was in between a fresh relaxer and right before needed a touch up. I think it's because the texture can hold the motion of the wave...and you won't have to work as hard. Hopefully this helps 🤗
